I travelled with my Grandson from 21st - 25th August , room spotlessly clean including all the crockery & utensils , we had a cooker with an oven as well , nice views over the bay & a very quiet room and private balcony , the staff were very helpful & I made some requests prior to travelling as my Grandson has special needs and they were very helpful and accomodating although I do think the main reception lady is overworked as she was a little bit sharp with me on one occasion when booking my return transfer!

The childrens pool was FABULOUS and the pool staff were fine with inflatables in the pool and were very friendly to the children & there was a very relaxed atmosphere which you need on holiday , no stress at all really , room nice and large , no noise from the other rooms , a bit of entertainment noise on some evenings but not to bad and ended early enough for us to sleep like logs every night & the beds were really comfy ( thick mattresses ) the room had everything we needed and more , watched some lovely sunsets on the patio , location perfect for everything , perfect holiday all round & would definitely return again as Portinatx is a very family friendly resort and these apartments are family friendly as well , if you have any concerns or requests just message them before your trip and they will get back to you and sort it - My Grandson & I felt VERY comfortable here which is important to us when travelling with a child with special needs and having an enjoyable STRESS FREE holiday is important to us , so thank you everyone at Apartments Del Rey for accomodating us so well and I cannot help but recommend you as a bit of 80's furniture does not spoil a holiday , nor does getting to the pool which is fine & my Grandson loved looking at the kittens so it was a bonus :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room with a sea view

We stayed at del rey apts for 1 week, 2 adults and 3 children and had a great time. The apartment was dated but large with 2 bathrooms which was ideal with 3 children. The apt had a well equipt kitchen, air con, sat tv and a gd size balcony however this did not have a sea view. Clean towels were also provided every other day. The salt water pool was clean and poolside bar served lovely reasonably priced food, we never had trouble getting a lounger either which was always a plus! On the downside we were situated opposite a lively hotel which had very loud outdoor entertainment every night. Portinatx itself was a beautiful place with amazing beaches and some lovely restaurants.
Our holiday was a cheap getaway but we will def return to Portinatx but probably not to del rey.

The apartment we had was on the 3rd floor opposite a small bridge that took you to the pool. Could be noisy at peak pool times. The apartment was extremely spacious as was the balcony. Air con was fab although we didn't need it on as we had a breeze that came from the back and kept it cool. It had everything we needed in a one bed apartment, even an Iron and ironing board. Apartments need a jolly good clean, but other than that it was good. Balcony was very private. Pool area is great, always found a bed even though its open to anyone, and the bar staff are friendly and good fun. Area is quiet, not a lot of Spanish character, more for Brits. Probably wouldn't visit area again, but did enjoy holiday. Bus service was pants.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have better views.

Having just spent two weeks in the Del Rey apartments I have come to the conclusion, with hindsight, that for every positive regarding this complex there is unfortunately a negative. In fact I can say the same about the resort of Portinatx as well. The Apartments are situated just across the road from the amazing Gran S'arena beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen with crystal clear water and stunning scenery .We stayed in Apt 27 situated in the front and oldest block of the complex. The apartment itself was clean, well equipped, had a good sized bathroom, excellent air con, a TV with satellite and a sizeable balcony. However there was no sea view from the balcony, instead it faced trees in front of a noisy water park, there was no wi fi reception from the room (you have to sit on the steps beside reception and ask for the password to access it), the walls are paper thin so you could hear the neighbours beside and above clearly, the block itself is quite tired and shabby (you enter via an old disused shopping arcade), when trying to relax you are tortured by the screams and yells from the water park and at night the very VERY loud entertainment coming from the large all inclusive hotels that are killing the resort. The safety deposit box cost 45 euros for 13 nights and is situated in reception. The problem here is that reception only opens 9am-1pm then 5pm to 9pm. outside these hours you cannot access your belongings. The French lady in reception is lovely, helpful and friendly and we genuinely appreciated her. The distance to the pool is quite long as you've to take the tiny and busy lift to level 4a, follow a long path whilst trying not to step on the numerous stray cats, walk up steps, follow another path, up more steps and finally you're there. The pool area is quite big with stunning views over Portinatx. You can also get there by following up the steep hill from the main Portinatx square or climb the mountain of steps beside reception and follow the gruelling path that will lead you there eventually. Getting a sunbed was never a problem and the pool is quite big but is however filled with salty sea water. There's a huge sign in the pool area stating no inflatables, no diving, no balls and none of your own food/drinks. The staff only enforces without exception the no 'bring your own food/drink' rule, not even a bottle of water is allowed. This then allows them to charge extortionate bar prices for example 3.90 for a pint, 2.50 for a tiny little bottle of chocolate milk etc. What we did, to save money, was either not go to the pool area at all or when we did go leave via the side gate, go down the hill to 'boozy buys' and have our lunchtime refreshment here for a third of the price. The Real restaurant, even though attached to the Hotel, is contrary to belief NOT a part of the Del Rey however it does offer those staying in Del Rey 5% discount on meals. The staff here is brilliant and it was always a joy to see Rafa and his two colleagues there in the mornings. The food is ok and is similar to all the other places in the resort that seem to offer the exact same menu and unfortunately same poor choices. The Buenavista next door to the Real was our favourite and others of note were the Jardin Del Mar for its stunning views and the Es Puet Blanc even though the latter charged 4.30 for a pint. However prepare for your peace and tranquillity, at es Puet Blanc, to be shattered by the ultra-loud entertainment coming from the other large all inclusive hotel beside it. The main square, next to Del Rey has most of the resorts tiny number of shops, Del Boys and Vincents who have Elvis, karaoke etc type entertainment and Boozy Buys. Buenavista has Spanish dancers and Spanish guitarist on two of the nights. The resort is very isolated with a limited number of buses coming to and fro. The supermarkets do not stock fresh meat and therefore going self-catering becomes a challenge as its difficult to access any other resorts, due to the limited busses, to buy any supplies. They also over charge on basic things like toilet roll etc. compared to other resorts I’ve visited. The beach at the far end of Portinatx has some interesting restaurants and a beach bar that again is overly expensive. However from here you can walk around to the lighthouse etc. and take in the stunning views. The resort itself seems to have a problem with flies, you'll find yourself constantly doing what we called the 'Portinatx wave' as your always waving flies away when at dinner, on the beach, walking, swimming etc. etc. It becomes an unbearable nuisance at times. Bring a fly swat to Portinatx with you. The hippy market on the Sunday , in Portinatx contains 16 stalls and no more and mainly sell what the guys on the beach sell eg fake watches, fake designer shades etc. We took the Ibiza town/las Dalias evening tour. Save yourself the money and try going yourself. the Sunday night aqua bus to the drum party on Benierras (sp?) beach is a must to see the sun go down and experience the madness that accompanies it. Its 10 euros per adult and 5 per child and leaves from the Jardin Del Mar on a Sunday at 7pm. To conclude: we had a great holiday and we loved our actual apartment, we really loved the beautiful beach and enjoyed the resort. . It’s so sad to see these large all inclusive companies kill off the local business's and resorts and I don't think we fell in love with Portinatx therefore I'm not sure we'll return but as they say .....'never say never'

Just got back, the apartment was fine with great views. The pool area was great which again had a fantastic sea view. Plenty of sunbeds great quality food from the Pool side cafe. All in all as the title says fantastic value for money would certainly go again.
