We have stayed at Fournet House several times now and fully intend to return again and again. The whole place is comfortable, relaxing and very friendly.

Alison always does her best to make us feel at home and looks after us very well! (I had a rotten cold this time and was promptly provided with ginger and lemon tea and manuka honey which really did the trick!)

Breakfasts are fantastic (no need to eat again until evening!) - especially the porridge, which is superb! The food at Noah's Ark Bistro is also very good - especially the Whisky Cheesecake (always a highlight of our trips!)

Highly recommended! (just as long as there's a room available for us when we're in Dufftown!)

This is a lovely place to stay. We stayed for the Dufftown Highland Games after arriving in town with no where to stay. Alison was generous and very accommodating. Would highly recommend this place.

Touring Scotland on our the way back south from Inverness and the great glen area we turned off the A9 to tour the spey valley district. We discovered there was a whisky fair just starting in the area so we decided to stop over. I do enjoy a nice whisky so it was an brilliant surprise. I didn't know they had such things! We stayed here to explore the area and absorb the culture for a couple of nights.

Our "colourful" room was clean, cozy, comfortable and well equipped. It also seemed like the staff could not do enough for us which is very refreshing!

The bistro serves lovely food and they cater for your every need. My girl friend is a vegan so we really appreciated the choice the bistro offers. The vegetable satay was a lovely treat and the whisky cheescake well you just have visit to experience this for yourself!
We found the busy restaruant a bright and colourful experience and our breakfasts were just fantastic, they really know how to cook and eeat in Scotland .

We had a great time here in Dufftown, the people are friendly and the culture is wonderful!

Thank you to everyone that made our stay enjoyable!

We stayed 4 friends in Fournet House and was really nice for us. Alison and Paula were both very kind with us, the bedrooms were comfortable and tidy. The breakfast was really good and tasty and the attention received was excellent. The situation was perfect, near the center town, and the main attraction of the area, reaaly good to go by foot. I absolutely reccomend this bed and breakfast! I discovered a fantastic dish: Eggy bread!!! Núria

Allison seemed very disorganised, tried to light an open fire with a blocked chimney, causing the fire alarm to go off at 07.20. Jacuzzi bath in our room was charged at £10 a go, ridiculous! Breakfast was burnt and fried eggs were uncooked. Admitted did not know how to make Scottish porridge!!! although it was on the menu. This place is over priced at £35 a head definately not worth it. Worst place we have stayed in for many a long time.

FournetHouse, Owner at Fournet House Guest House, responded to this reviewResponded April 29, 2010

Criticism of this nature is deeply regrettable for it means that we have failed not only our guests but also ourselves as well. We take customers’ satisfaction extremely seriously.
Indeed the guests were woken up at 7.20 by a fire alarm, which was solely there for your safety.
As indicated, we confirm that we do charge for the ‘Whirlpool’ bath.
Alison sat and listened to your concerns at the time and thought this matter had been settled amicably. She feels she did everything in her power to smooth over the upsets and part in a friendly and positive manner. She thanks everyone who has stayed at Fournet House and is reassured that they have enjoyed themselves by the positive reviews. She is looking forward to welcoming both past and future visitors.

We've been there for just one night and it was great. Alison was a extremely friendly and helpful host, especially when one of the girls got sick. You don't need a doc, if you stay at Fournet Guesthouse, Alison will make you feel good again. Very tidy rooms created with passion and not to forget: best breakfast in Scotland! Thumbs up!
