Helen and Stuart as always, welcoming,. helpful in every way with nothing too much trouble. Rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. Full Scottih breakfasts are a must - will last you through to evening meal which, if you arrange with sufficient notice, can be provided in the B & B. Can't recommend them highly highly enough. looking forward to returning at some point in the not too distant futuire.

For us ‘Kiwis’ our time at Dunvegan B &B in Dufftown earlier this year, was the absolute highlight of our holiday. Our large, generously equipped room was super comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need. All the comforts of home included flatscreen TV and Wi-Fi in our room which was spotlessly clean and warm enabling us to sleep like babies. We were made to feel very welcome by hosts, Stuart & Helen. Nothing was too much trouble for them; their local knowledge is outstanding, not to mention their hospitality and friendliness. Dunvegan is an easy and pleasant walk to visitor attractions. If you want to know anything about Whisky, Stuart’s your man displaying a wealth of knowledge on the subject. All in all, we had such a wonderful time, that when we returned to New Zealand, we were homesick for Dunvegan! I would recommend, Dunvegan in a heartbeat.

I can't speak highly enough of how wonderful this B&B was. Helen and Stuart were excellent hosts- they know the area so well and suggested the perfect day's itinerary for us with all the things we wanted to see. The full Scottish breakfast was outstanding (Haggis and black pudding were delicious!). Because of some crazy flight scheduling, we actually had to leave at 4 AM on our last day. Helen and Stuart packed us some sandwiches and crisps to go...so thoughtful! The rooms themselves are quite excellent. We were a group of two couples, and we each selected a room with an en suite. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Hope to come back soon for more tours of the highlands!

You'll get a great welcome at the Dunvegan.... Stuart and Helen are perfect hosts and their knowledge of the area is second to none. We had an evening meal which was all home cooked and delicious. Breakfast for me was scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.... yummy! There's plenty to see in the area and the Dunvegan provides an excellent, comfortable base. Little extras such as whisky in the rooms are an added bonus! The 100 year old house has been tastefully decorated and has all the home comforts - even electric blankets on the beds! Highly recommended

Honestly, Helen and Stuart were so good. From Stuart's singing 'lalalala' to is own tune in the morning, to Helen's excellent breakfasts and tea.... Dufftown and Dunvegan Bed and Breakfast are both the place to go (together if you can). Close to everything, including walking distance to both The Glenfidich and The Balvenie distillery tours (why the heck else would you go to Dufftown?). BTW - make sure you do The Balvenie tour. It could be one of the top 100 experiences of YOUR LIFE.

Helen and Stuart take care of you and do it at a price that is unbeatable.

Stuart welcomed the six of us, gave us our rooms then set out tea for our rest up before we followed his directions to our own tour about the Dufftown area. Great recommendation for dinner and things we should see here. Rooms are very nice and comfy, breakfast was excellent and Helen wished us a safe travel for the rest of our trip. Worth a stop to any one passing through this beautiful town.

At Dunvegan Bed and Breakfast close to the centre of Dufftown your hosts Stuart & Helen aim to offer you first class comfort and hospitality. Dunvegan is a large stone built 19th-century house located close to the centre of Dufftown - The Malt Whisky Capital of the World. Dufftown nestles in a valley dominated by Ben Rinnes (840m/2755ft) and has the highest concentration of distilleries anywhere in Scotland. An old saying was "Rome was built on seven hills but Dufftown’s built on seven stills;" this no longer applies as there are now nine. Apart from distilleries Dufftown has something for everyone - golf, fishing, walking, wildlife, history, skiing and much more. At the end of your day exploring everything Dufftown and the surrounding area has to offer return to Dunvegan where all our rooms have comfortable beds and TV, tea/coffee making facilities, central heating and for your comfort in winter, electric blankets. We can offer 2 x double, en-suite rooms and a twin room with private facilities. We also offer our guests free WiFi internet connection. There is also a Residents lounge where you can sit and watch television, read the literature about Dufftown and its surrounding area or enjoy a conversation with fellow travellers. We also serve evening meals but these must be booked prior to arrival. ... more   less
