We had booked two deluxe double rooms for 100£ per night each.
The guesthouse is located right in the center of little Dufftown, next to a supermarket. The host was very friendly and gave us helpful advice.
The rooms were spacious enough and decorated in a distinct style. However, the mattresses were very soft and the windows weren't properly keeping out the cold. Water in the shower was hot but trickling only. One room had a carpet floor in the bathroom. Pieces of fluff came out when uncovering the bed, even though the rest of the room seemed clean.
Breakfast consisted out of a small buffet and a larger choice of breakfast sets, being cooked when ordered. In summary, breakfast was alright in choice, but not convincing in quality.
A restaurant was attached which we did not try (23£ for a main / 29£ for a 3 course meal). The bar offers some 400 whiskys - impressive! Prices start at 6£ per glass, which is higher than in the nearby restaurants and pubs.
Check-out is as early as 10am, no option to stay longer.
All in all, he had expected more from a deluxe bedroom in a 4 star guesthouse - especially since we had seen better places at lower rates on our trip. It's not bad, but the overall quality and impression just don't justify the price.

We found the guest house easily, close to local restaurants with easy parking on street.
Welcoming staff and warm environment. Bed and pillows werent the most comfortable but were clean. We had a standard room which was fairly small but was cosy.
Breakfast was great-we just had the continental options.
Would recommend this place as a nice short term stop.

I stayed in Dufftown to visit a few of my favorite local distilleries, and I couldn't have picked a better spot than Tannochbrae Guest House. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was perfect, and the breakfast in the morning was incredible. James, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would absolutely return.

We stayed here while doing a whiskey tour of Speyside and enjoyed the stay. My room was comfortable. The bathroom is pretty cramped. Breakfast was tasty. There is even an option to have a shot of whiskey in your porridge. We enjoyed a dinner with whiskey pairings one night and the food was delicious and gourmet in presentation. Afterwards we checked out the small whiskey bar which has a huge collection of single malts. Service was friendly and it felt very homey to be there.

I can highly recommend a stay at Tannochbrae Guest House. Warm welcome on arrival and shown round the Guest House to get to know your surroundings. A room to chill out in,another for a catch up and a chat about the day's activities. Whisky Bar is Quaint and lots of different verities of Malts. Our room so comfortable, clean, and cosy, and had everything we required for our stay. The food amazing, all the ingredients are fresh and in season, and freshly cooked to order. Breakfast was lovely and so much to verity to choose from. Staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Well worth a visit to this Guest House.
