I travelled with my boyfriend and his family, and we stayed two nights at Park lodge April 2012. The rooms were fitted two by two in huts, and the separating wall prevented no noise what so ever from travelling trough. We had a family as neighbours, and they took a cold shower after the night walk, and it was obviously so cold they had to scream about it.
The rooms have separate toilets and a cold shower, and is fan cooled. The general state of the place is worn down, don't expect to spend time outside of your room when you are at Park Lodge, unless it is in the jungle. The breakfast consisted of two fried eggs, and toast with butter and jam and tea and local coffee.
The place is fine for sleeping, and the staff is very friendly. We got a lift to the boat on our way back, twice as I forgot my phone the first time, and it is possible to arrange jungle trips with the owner. I think this is a better alternative than going on the arranged trips at NKS, if you are up for a real jungle trip and not a big fan of noisy school classes and other tourists.
Park Lodge is about 600 metres from the NKS restaurant/quay, so if you mind walking you should choose other accommodation. But then again, if you mind walking, what are you doing in the jungle?
