“History Unfolds”
Reviewed July 8, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We (3) recently stayed for several nights in this magnificent historical accommodation. The house is situated in the main street of the beautiful town of Richelieu. You enter the house through the main large gate into a courtyard. Guests have their own entrance into the building. The apartment upstairs is spacious and well appointed with period furniture. The bathroom is new and clean. There is a second toilet. The building was a thriving family bakery in the past and now oozes history. The owners Robert & Maureen live on site and provide excellent advice and information about the house and the town of Richelieu.
Richelieu is a lovely town with all amenities ie. supermarket, bank ATM, local market and restaurants. The only drawback is that you would need a car to really enjoy this area fully as public transport is practically nil.

“Steeped in History, close to town, comfy beds”
Reviewed July 4, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Both Maureen and Robert were very welcoming and both added their own touch to pure stay.
To add to our stay were comfy beds and a clean bathroom. Beige able to access the backyard was a plus. Having breakfast n the sun and the afternoon wine added a homely feel.
The hues is in walking distance to the town, try to be there for the Friday markets and don't forget to walk on the local gardens.
We happened to attend an Opera on the local church while we were there, amazing, just good timing.
Enjoy your stay, steeped in history.

“History in comfort”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

I was lucky enough to stay in the Historic Hotel Particulier and what a gem it is for those who love history. This property has been Robert''s family home for generations and both he and his partner Maureen have a long history in hospitality.
The photos and written descriptions are a true reflection of the rooms and amenities - but they cannot begin to describe the wonderful hospitality I experienced,
Walking around the walled town, through the magnificent gardens of Cardinal Richelieu's residence, listening to a concert there, visiting the market in the town square. I lived and breathed history.
