This property has been lovingly restored by Christine and John Huband. My friends and I could not have asked for a better place as a base to do our touring of the Loire. Though Le Roitelet is in the country, it is close enough to Richelieu to make obtaining food and other supplies very easy. The interior is extremely well maintained, but gives a welcoming feeling. In other words, you don't feel uneasy sitting on a chair, or using the fireplace. For those who enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well stocked. Everything is handy. The owners were extremely gracious in taking about 45 minutes to show us everything and walk us around the place. It's also handy having them next door in case minor things go awry. We had some questions about various sites and John brought over some things he found on the Internet. I think that if you're looking for a quiet place from which to launch day excursions, I think you can't miss with Le Roitelet. Some mornings I'd go out for a jog and all I could hear was the sound of my feet hitting the pavement and the doves cooing around the sunflower fields. Simply stated, this place was outstanding.
