We've visited the charming town of Osuna before (we live near Estepona) and liked it so much we thought it would be a good place to explore for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel description on the booking agency site I looked at states king size doubles - we were given twin beds, despite my requesting a double when I booked. I read the facilities as having a hot tub as well as a pool. In fact there was only a pool the size of a carp pool so would be better described as a plunge pool. Yes, the hotel is charming but the beds are hard and only one very thin pillow provided. The air conditioning unit was behind two sets of curtains at the window overlooking the inner courtyard, so to benefit from the air conditioning we had to have the curtains open so that anyone walking past opposite our room could see in. Air con most necessary as temperature very high at around 37 degrees and the only window was to the inner courtyard. The drain cover in the middle of the shower floor was completely loose, exposing a 4" square drain hole - very dangerous if you caught your foot on it.
What really spoilt our stay is that Osuna closes for August - completely - so on Saturday 30th July there were no restaurants or tapas bars and very few bars open. So a word of warning to any prospective travellers to rural Spain in the summer as this can completely spoil your enjoyment of your holiday, something we should all be aware of.
A small hotel, full of character and history but I'm glad our stay was for just one night.
