There is no reason to ever stay at this hotel, unless you are trapped because of business – some meetings actually take place here (like mine) – or maybe as you drive through Italy and for some reason and you car breaks down and you have no choice (otherwise, drive on). The positive here is that there is a lovely terrace in the main building with a nice view. There isn’t much else that is positive. This is the sort of place overrun with Europeans who want to take five weeks to sitting by a third-rate pool – and I imagine even most Europeans don’t want this-yet something must keep the place in business. The rooms are dismal, ancient, dirty, depressing – it makes no difference in the main building, or the “villa” buildings… I saw at least ten rooms. Maybe if I had five or six family members and wanted a large apartment-like space at cheap prices…. But no! Not even then. The rooms are mostly DEPRESSING. Some of the larger ones that are well lit can be considered bearable, especially if they have a private terrace, but everything is so run down and old, and moldy, that its hard to find merit. They make no effort at all to update. Awful torn bedding, temperature control that doesn’t work, no internet (no matter what they say) - hell can freeze over, and I still would not want to go back.
