I stayed one night in a deluce room for around 100€ during a business trip. The room was clean and really large... So was the pillow, but I always bring my own anyway.
I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was superbly prepared and cooked.

I wasn't expecting such an accomodation in Unna, ordinary rooms are ok but deluxe are great. The hotel is in front of the train station, two minutes walking to city center. Breakfast is great and staff very friendly. Wifi is free but every ten hours you have to get new pswd. There's also a sauna but i didn't tried it.

Definitely reserve a deluxe room. (Only 109 Euro for a weekend night!!) These rooms are spacious and contemporary, and you'll feel as if you're staying someplace much pricier. My husband and I stayed in one room while our two children stayed next door (both near the end of the third floor hallway, both facing the Bahnhof.) The hotel is exceptionally quiet, which was wonderful!
The location is excellent, in that is directly across from the Bahnhof, and the hotel staff can assist you in finding train routes and times (in English or German). (If you have a car, there is a parking garage, though the spaces are quite tight!)
The hotel is also just steps away from the town itself. Very traditional looking, with cobblestone streets, and you'll find everything you need within walking distance.
The lobby of the hotel is extremely underwhelming: Dated, a bit worn, and it smells of old cigarette smoke. The dining area is the same, and the breakfast buffet was literally covered in fruit flies! The granola (muesli) was stale, and there was very little we could stomach. Plan to find breakfast elsewhere.
There is a restaurant on the premises, which we did not visit. It has a scary cartoonish old-time-gangster-type-guy on its sign, which really turned us off, as did the weird mannequin in the hallway outside the restaurant. To the owners: Do yourselves a favor and get rid of these!! You are frightening customers away. I guarantee it!

Room Tip: Do not get a standard room! Don't have breakfast there. Ask for a deluxe room on the third flo...

Stayed in a deluxe room - triple pain windows limit 98% of the bus and train noise from across the street. Huge room, great bathroom, fast free internet, OK breakfast, and paid parking only in the garage. Close walk to a great pedestrian shopping mall - lots to see and do. Saw the local market on Friday AM. Easy walk to ReWe market too. Nice play to stay in Unna for a few days on business.

We booked a 10 day stay at this hotel. It was close to where we were going to be working and seemed to have all the amenities we were seeking. What no one told us was that the hotel is undergoing major renovations which required jackhammering on the roof and cutting away metal pieces on the outside of the building. They commenced doing this daily between 7:30 and 8am. When we asked for a different room on a lower floor or other side of the hotel, we were told the hotel was fully booked (which I didn't believe for a minute). The noise and vibration was incredibly loud and men were constantly walking past our window on the scaffolding. It was warm and there was no A/C, so we had our window open for air - but had to keep closing it due to noise and debris from the roof coming into our room. Also - the train tracks run along the outside of the building all night long, so if you are a light sleeper, make sure to stay on the other side of the hotel during warm months! When we checked out 8 days early, the staff didn't blink an eye or ask why. Oh - and the "Fitness Park" (workout facilities) do not exist. Everything has been ripped out of there and it's just a storage room full of construction materials. Unna is a charming little town, but I would recommend staying somewhere else until they finish their renovation.

My wife and I enjoyed three nights at this wonderful hotel from 5th February 2010. On our first night we dined in the hotel restaurant. The meal and surroundings were first class and the service faultless. Every member of staff we encountered during our stay made us feel very welcome and spoke perfect English. Our bedroom was equipped with everything necessary to ensure a comfortable stay and the ensuite shower room was spacious and clean, all the fittings were as if they had been fitted the day before.
Our short stay in Dortmund was an enjoyable and memorable one.
Should we return at some time in the future we will definitely stay at this hotel and recommend it without hesitation.

We have stayed at the Ringhotel Katharinen Hof several times. As a family and my husband has stayed when in Dortmund on business. Each stay has been excellent. The rooms are very modern as are the public spaces. The breakfast was full of local favoirtes and was incredible. On one stay we booked a one bedroom suite. It was very spacious with a balcony, microwave and coffee service. There is a small, childrens play area, which is a real plus. You can sit in the lounge and keep an eye on the little one. The art in the lobby is always a pleasure. The staff are quite friendly and they have menus in english. An all around great place to stay.
