“Also disappointed...”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We have been here a number of times over the years, and as we were staying in the area we chose to eat here our last night of our holiday, a big shame.

Sat by the sea, on very uncomfortable chairs depending on who you are. You are handed a number of menus, varying in price. Set menu at 12 Euro's is good value but a tad basic. The food was fine, but nothing special. The service was very slow, it took 40 minutes from asking for the bill to actually going to the bar to pay someone.

All in all it was fine but will look elswhere in future...

“Wonderful location, food not so good. Eat elsewhere.”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Ate here with my wife at about 8pm on Sunday evening this past weekend. Paella starter was nice, maybe portion size was too big. My wife had mussels which she said was ok. We both had the mixed fried fish main, this was of differing quality. The hake was really good, but the squid and sole was poor and didn't taste fresh at all. Bread was stale and served with margarine in packets which I absolutely hate to see in any restaurant. We both had Creme Brûlée for dessert, this tasted of overpowering burnt sugar, not how it should be done in my opinion. Total bill came to 54 euros. I think you probably get what you pay for here, and there is no doubt in my mind that there are better places to eat in Fornells. I would not go back here again.

“A lovely place with very good food and a good selection of wine”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

The restaurant as far as we saw is the only one in Fornells facing the harbor directly. The harbor water BTW is so clean that you can occasionally see an octopus passing by. We’ve been there for dinner (4 adults & 4 kids) and had a crab soup for 4 adults. Summary: excellent & highly recommendable. They’ve special kid menus but even if you can’t find something on the menu, they’ll just do it. Spent a very nice evening there, very relaxing, staff was very friendly and also the kids had lots of fun feeding the fish. Conclusion: very good place also with kids. Very good value for money.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

Have been here many times over the years and been delighted but sadly this time we were served bread which was not fresh, margarine not butter and my fish was so undercooked it was in edible.
I was very disappointed having been so impressed in the past.

“Bitterly disappointing”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Of all the restaurants in Fornells, this is the only significant one that is actually on the water. Most are across the waterfront street from the harbor. The tables present a pleasant experience, looking out on the boats and enjoying a pleasant breeze. Don't be fooled. This is a horrible restaurant. It began with the rolls, which tasted like the frozen kind included in Swanson's "TV" dinners that I had when I was a kid. The fish we had tasted old and wasn't well prepared. The service was arrogant. They push this lobster soup routine, which is hugely overpriced for a cream based soup where a lobster was apparently allowed to swim through once, but was removed before served. The deserts seemed prepackaged. This restaurant has tourist trap written all over it. They will tell you repeatedly that the King of Spain sails into harbor just to eat there. If so, then he must get the lobster that was intended for my soup, or the King must have a poor taste in restaurants.
