We stayed for 5 nights earlier this year, in February, and out of an amazing three week trip, with so many highlights, Bijagua stands out as the most amazingest. Daniel and Dominique were wonderful hosts with great local knowledge and connections, and a wonderful location. We had a very good guide, Jorge, all to ourselves for many of our trips, and we could have spent a lot longer there and learnt a lot more. The walk to the Miravalles volcano waterfall, which we did on our own, and had to ourselves, was one of the most perfect days we have ever had, anywhere.
The cabins at Sueno Celeste were all very comfortable, private, and beautiful. And the five fruit marmalade was the best we've ever had!

What can I say that hasn't been said? There is no reason NOT to stay here. The hosts are wonderfully helpful and accommodating, it's a fantastic value for the price. The breakfast just can't be beat, the location is gorgeous and ideal for traveling to many different interesting locations, and the hosts clearly enjoy Costa Rican life and sharing it with travelers from all over the world. Three days was the ideal length of time for the activities we wanted there - ecological garden, Tenorio, Rio Celeste, and horseback riding.

One caveat was that our hosts suggested that we pay extra for a guided horseback tour rather than just a horseback tour - however, our guide didn't say more than a few sentences the whole time! If that was the "guided" tour, I can't imagine how he could have gotten quieter for the non-guided tour. That was the only situation where we felt our money was not well spent throughout our time at Sueno. Overall, however, we would highly recommend this location without any qualms!

We stayed for 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer. We didn't realize there was so much to do in the area. Regardless, Sueno Celeste offered such beautiful and relaxing accommodation we wished we could have enjoyed longer. Our Belgian hosts were extremely kind and helpful making us feel very welcomed especially with our 6 month old baby. The breakfast is all home made from the exotic fruit jam to the eggs, muffin and amazing coffee. The hotel is located on the main street which makes it easy to access many of the sights and activities but you would never know this when you entered the private gardens. Thank you for making our stay welcoming.

Dominique and Daniel are excellent hosts, Sueno Celeste B&B is an excellent place to stay. Clean and quiet with breakfast that will rival that meal anywhere on the planet. Can't add much to what has been written, if you are headed to Volcan Tenorio, stay at Sueno Celeste. If you have an interest in the rain forest at night have Daniel set up a tour with Miguel...a local gentleman that has re-forested a large part of his land and knows where all the critters are...insects, frogs, birds and all. Miguel doesn't speak english but is a great guide.

We had a wonderful time staying in a cute cabin at Sueno Celeste for two nights. The property has beautiful grounds and is a short walk into Bijagua, a charming town with some good sodas and close to Parque Nacional Volcan Tenorio. Daniel and Dominique make breakfast each morning with fabulous homemade jam, and they are incredibly nice. After eating at a great little restaurant (Casita de Maiz -- try the chorreadas) one afternoon my companion and I rushed back to the B&B on foot when it was about to storm and found Daniel hopping into his car, about to drive around looking for us so we wouldn't be stuck walking in the rain! Daniel and Dominique are knowledgeable about local activities and helped us to arrange a guide for our hike around Rio Celeste, where we spotted toucans and a three-toed sloth. They gave us great recommendations for Monteverde as well, which was our next stop. Recommended!

I am so glad we chose to stay at this perfect little spot. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are big. The best part about staying here was the delicious breakfast!! Costa Rican coffee, fresh squeezed juice, homemade bread, fruit from the back yard, and farm eggs. It made for a great start to the day. Also, Daniel was extremely informative on all of the different activities and restaurants in the area. He gave us a map and sat down to explain everything. Could not have asked for a better tour guide.

we stayed at the B&B for 3 nights and enjoyed a really cozy cabin with own terace and hammock. Most of the plugs - which first wouldn't work - were repaired after a couple of hours and nothing after that stood in our way of enjoying our stay with Danielle and Dominique. The two of them were really lovely and informative and made it possible for us to enjoy many activities in the region which we wouldn't have found otherwise. For example the ecological farm where plants and animals are tended if found hurt in the forest (we got an extremely great tour by Jesus - Spanish would be useful with him, though); another must-do: the sugar-mill-restaurant way up in the country (gravel gravel gravel road ;-)) even further than the Ternorio Parc but really worth the tire. Besides that the B&B has really nice breakfast with homemade jam and bread during which you can watch a ton of humming birds really close by taking advantage of the beautiful garden. Few words to the rooms: great rain-shower but the beds creak. Still definitely recommended.

Hello Corinna,

Many thanks for your kind review. We really appreciate. This message to let you know that after reading it we did all the necessary repairs so that the beds do not creak anymore. If you had reported that problem it also would have been fixed the same day. You know, this room has about 3 years old, first claim of that kind but we agree, the wood works following the level of humidity and that was easy to fix, thanks again and say hello to your Dad and Mum.
Kind regards,

Daniel and Dominique
