“Fantastic walking Holiday”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Just returned from one of the best walking holidays we have had. As regular holiday walkers we were really impressed with the way Alison & Michael run their business. Nothing is too much trouble for them as far as making sure you have a good time. The farm house accommodation was spotlessly clean, the meals were of an extremely high standard &they even managed to make the packed lunch tasty. We stayed for 7 nights (5 guided walks) Michael explained the various options to us the night before using his local knowledge. All the walks were different with Michael pointing out things of interest as we walked. All in all a great holiday. We shall certainly book with them again

Having been on a number of guided walks with the large companies / associations that operate out of large guest houses and hotels, I was looking for more homely accommodation and a holiday with a more personal touch. I'm so pleased that I did so.

Alison and Michael’s guest house is clean, fresh and homely throughout, and set in a tranquil surrounding. The walks set on by Michael were varied and all very enjoyable, and were capped by a beautiful day’s walk back along the beaches at Bude, where Ellie the Cocker Spaniel fully lived up to her billing as the ‘Entertainments Officer’ as she bounded up and down the sands and in and out of the eddies.

The care that Alison put into accommodating my Vegetarian diet was simply the best I have encountered. The food was simply delightful. And of course then there’s the pot of tea and homemade cake at the end of the walk each day.

The whole experience is run by Alsion and Michael in a thoroughly professionally yet friendly and caring manner, with a sense of calm and unhurriedness. They can be rightly proud of what they have achieved at Home Farm, and I’m sure they will go from strength to strength in the newer offerings that they have begun to cultivate.

I felt immediately at home in this traditional, well renovated farm house. My room was very comfortable and clean and the welcome from Michael and Alison was warm and friendly. The walks were spectacular, varied and just enough of a challenge for me to enjoy the excellent food without an ounce of guilt. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: I would go with an en suite bathroom if you have the choice so you can take as much time as you like...

Great accomodation, food, hosts (Alison and Michael) and walks in Devon/Cornwall. Would definitely recommend this holiday and plan to go again myself in the future. Made to feel very welcome in this beautiful part of the country. Lisa S

You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Michael and Alison's lovely house is stylish, comfortable and spotlessly clean. They are a great team! Their food is absolutely declicious. What could be better than a big pot of tea and home made cake waiting for you at the end of a long walk! Make sure you leave room for the delicious three course dinner cooked with great skill by Alison.
Michael's walks take you to some stunning places and his knowledge adds to the enjoyment.
I thoroughly recommend that you give it a try!

We really enjoyed the week and were made to feel very welcome by Michael and Alison. The whole experience is thoughtfully planned and well organised.
The scenery is beautiful, even when it rains, and Michael takes care to visit and highlight local points of interest during the walks. For us the highlights were the cliff top walks with stunning views, we only wish we could have matched Ellie’s energy during the upward climbs; however we felt that her four legs gave her the edge.
Home Farm is in a lovely setting, very peaceful and relaxed. The accommodation is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was great, fresh, varied and well presented with tea and cake in the garden, much welcomed after a long walk! Alison really can cook!
And to top it all, the other guests were all very friendly, interesting and good company which really added to the enjoyment of the week.

We did the seven day walking holiday and loved it. We stayed in the old dairy room and it was very enjoyable. Michael and Allison are delightful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. One evening we even visited the local church to hear the bell ringers practicing for the Queen's Jubilee. Interesting walks, lots of local knowledge, gourmet food (especially the afternoon tea) all make for a marvelous holiday.

Room Tip: The old dairy room is self contained and separate form the main house.
