We stayed here for a short 3 night break with the family; the reception desk was the only dissapointment, in that they were not quite efficient, nor did they even have any information on the weather, the quality of the seawater, the tides ( they referred me to a man cleaning the floors who luckily was more informed...). The rooms were large and comfortable; although ours got invaded by ants...The pools were excellent, the food was good in the evening ( although a bit limited in choice), and really outstanding at breakfast. Service always with a smile and very efficient and thoughtful, really impeccable. All in all a most enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We had a lovely stay here and found the facilities were very good. The hotel is basically a resort with several blocks of rooms, our balcony looked into a court yard of other rooms but I imagine that the opposite side would have had views of the beach. The room was nice and very clean with good air conditioning. The main pool is massive and there was a smaller more quiet pool as well, the hotel was literally on the beach so no need for the pools anyway. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was massive and varied resulting in us both eating far too much everyday! We only ate one evening meal in the hotel in the pizzeria which was a lovely setting. Aside from that we drove into Zahara and ate in the very good local restaurants, the drive wasn't a big deal about 5 mins and parking was easy even in August; if you want to drink in town there are lots of taxis available. Everything in the hotel shut down about 11 so town was far more lively. As mentioned you have to pay to use the hotel carpark but the surrounding area is safe and there is plenty of parking available, I don't think we had to walk further than 3 mins ever. I would recommend this as a quiet hotel to spend a few days as a couple anything more may get slightly boring or a place to take a young family for a week as there are lots of activities for kids. The only downside for me was the nagging feeling i was getting ripped off every time I wanted to use one of the hotel's facilities e.g. having to pay 10€ for a hotel sun umbrella on the beach. The solution to this was to make the effort and explore the surrounding area.

Stayed there for 4 nights with my girl friend on a round trip through Andalucia.

Hotel is located in suburb Atlanterra, c. 4 km from Zahara. Location has pros (close to not so crowded part of beach) and cons (any decent restaurant can only reached by cars or 45 min walk).

Check in was a mess, at 2pm on a Saturday obviously we arrived during peak time, but then there were only 2 people at reception doing the check in, requiring c.15 min per person. At checkin we asked for a nice room, and were offered an upgrade for 14 EUR a night, which turned out to be a good deal, got a nice 3rd floor room towards pool with sunset view, quite nice in combination with the balcony.

Inherent challenge at this type of hotel is that you have an immense level of noise around the pool from 10am to 8 pm - but, alas, we spent most of our time at the very beautiful beach.

Hotel offers you to sign up for Media membership card at checkin and promises you all kind of benefits, some of them true (e.g., 50% discount on breakfast), some not true (1h free internet per day -- not true. We spend 30 min arguing with reception staff when we wanted to use it, but they just pretended they had never promoted it, which clearly they did when we checked in).

Breakfast was ok-ish, clearly designed to feed a large number of hungry families, therefore not lacking quantity, but certainly quality in presented food.

Overall - mixed experience, probably best recommended for families with small kids that want to have the complete package without worrying too much. Not sure I would recommend to anyone traveling without family.

Room Tip: ask for 3rd floor pool and sunset view.

Stayed here three nights with my family while travelling in Andalucia. Nice hotel with large rooms and clean big pool. The restaurant is excellent and I recommend the half-board option.

The first note is of category, and this of course is not the hotel's fault at all. This is a family hotel, for families with small kids, if you go there in summer season. Ok, that is understandable, but if you are traveling with grown up children, you have a different set of requirements. The other category issue is the location; if beach is what you want first and foremost, that's all there in plenty. We had plans that took us to Tarifa twice on a two night stay, and it looks like a doable distance on the map, but in reality the trip is 45 to 55 minutes, and, if you come back late in the night, like we did, the narrow raods leading to the beach front are long, dark and tricky. This place is really tucked away even for the nearby village visit, no walking distance for anybody.

We expect better from Melia. Much better! In the price we paid, beds were hard, rooms damp and stuffy, safe did not work and parking is not free (annoyingly, the free parking is roadside where guests who cannot aford the 13 eur/ night fee block the road by parking their Range Rovers, BMWs and Audi SUVs).

They really disappoint with the internet, these days, c'mon! Guys you have to fix this.

A horrific slide in value from the perfect Melia Sancti Petri we enjoyed for a little extra money!

The real bummer is the desk selling trips and stuff, the Melia group cannot aford this service, sorry, not at all accpetable.

The FRS tour in Morocco is another story and I will review this separately, but if something ike that is sold on the otel premises, the buck has to stop there!

The hotel is huge and gorgeous. I stayed in the Granada wing. The pools are nice and the path to the beach is a 5 min walk.

There is a fee for parking, but can park for free in the long driveway or in the neighboring streets. There is also a fee for wifi and can only be used in the main building, not the rooms.

We only ate at the pool bar which was quite pricey. I recommend driving into town for dinner. There are many great restaurants and tapas bars.

It's a very nice hotel. We spent only one nigth and it was a very good one.
Location is ok but you definitly need a car. It's located 40-50 km from Tarifa.
As many hotels in spain, parking is not free so you have to manage to find a spot to park your car. Internet is also not free and unless I m mistaken it was expensive.
Vert big room and very nice and clean bathroom. We really had a nice night. Service was very good. The best of the best was the breakfest..it was so good! It was included so I do not have any idea on its cost but once again it's worth it !
I recommend!
