“Perfect Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014

This small hotel is right on the cathedral square and our room was the upper balcony. It's a superb room with a view and very comfortable. Our host massimiliano was very attentive and helpful.he is proud of his hotel that he has renovated and tastefully furnished. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Arrive in the afternoon when Massimiliano is present at his Baby O Bar next door.

stumbled across this hotel whilst having coffee next door. Stayed with friends, booked two rooms, both well appointed and stylish. Happy to recommend to any one. A family could take the whole place.
Clean, friendly and as central as you could get.

This small hotel is one of the best places we have ever stayed at. We had the room at the top of the hotel which includes the balcony with incredible views over the piazza to the Cathedral and mountains in the distance. The owner Massimiliano is fantastic and is rightly proud of his hotel. He has designed and furnished the rooms using local artists and ceramicists. It is very beautiful and full of character. Great bathroom. Breakfast was provided at a cafe on the square.

Room Tip: Top floor room with balcony (Dame Elisa)

Well, i am not going to write an essay about this one, so here are the facts:

The location is pretty central, it's not easy to find at first (the signs are pretty hard to see), but it's just across the Dome. When i arrived i noticed that the cafe right next to the "Hotel" doubles as a check in for the place, so i asked there for my keys. They called the owner and brought me upstars to the the room (no english spoken). I hope you like windy stairs and that you are not to big, as we had to go to a very narrow piece of hallway to get to our room. Actually it seemed that there are only 3 rooms or so, every single on with different furniture.

The room was a bit of mix between everything. It looked as if the interior had been taken from different places, put together in our room. The wardrobe for instance looked like from the soviet union, while the rest was a mix of modern and classic styles. The bathroom was especially classic in it's style, actually a bit to classical for me.

Well, the place was clean at least, not totally well maintained and also pretty loud in the evening, as the local youth was having a meeting under our window (this made sleeping a bit harder). The bathroom was a bit cramped, but everything worked as designed.

Breakfast was the time when we met the owner, who seemed like a nice guy, who arranged a nice breakfast for me. The rest of the "staff" never really communicated with me.

Verdict:

Well, it's not going to win any prizes. The location is really good if you are here for the dome, but the place is pretty average. It's also not a hotel, it's just three rooms, which are rented out. Keys can be obtained in the cafe next door. It's pretty solid, but no place where i would want to stay for 3 or more days. Well, actually it might be okay if you don't want to stay in Palermo, as it is pretty close to the city.

This has to be one of the most perfect locations and places to stay in all of Sicily! You are right on the main Piazza and the owner is very friendly and VERY helpful. We stayed in the top floor with the balcony looking over the Duomo and Piazza and enjoyed wine and snacks out on the balcony. The temperatures were perfect so we were able to sleep with the doors and windows open. While we had no insects, each door and window has a quality screen system that is easy to work in case insects are around. The bathroom is huge, even by U.S. standards and it and the room are VERY clean. Parking a car is easy (although the streets of Palermo and Monreale are fun, if you can navigate Naples this is easy), from 1800 until 1000 the next day you park in front of the hotel on the Piazza. If you get here prior to that, then there is a nice parking garage as you enter the city for 2 euros an hour. We don't know what the other rooms look like (the other guests from Spain said it was great), but you owe it to yourself to stay here and stay in the top floor!

Room Tip: Top Floor with the balcony.

We arrived at PMO after a long trip from the US. We rented a car and headed to Monreale thinking we would avoid the chaos of Palermo. Driving to Monreale was a little tricky but we made it. Driving in Monreale is insane. We called Massimo from a random parking lot in Monreale and told him we were lost. He appeared within minutes, ninja-fast, and brought us to the hotel. He got us a parking spot in the square and gave us good restaurant suggestions. The hotel location is perfect, the room was very nice (and quiet even though it is right on the square), everything was clean and comfortable and breakfast this morning was great-fresh persimmon, cream filled chocolate croissant, cappuccino, etc. Masimilliano showed us where everything we needed was in town-he knew half the people on the street as we walked. Short story is Monreale parking and driving is a little crazy but Masimilliano is a good dude and his hotel is lovely.
