Description: Set in the countryside, historical site since 1929, La Botte started as a wine retail shop, then became a tavern and in 1962 Cascino family transformed it in a top restaurant. The style is rustic but elegant, with a large, open fireplace, conserved over the years and a sheltered terrace in the garden. This is a well-known destination for gourmets, offering typical Sicilian cuisine and a well-stocked wine cellar. In this restaurant the masters Salvatore and Francesco Paolo Cascino created the famous Ali Pascia (almond parfait with hot chocolate sauce). Closed in August

Our B and B (Casa Rossa) was able to make reservations for us at this restaurant. All food very good, anti pasto buffet superior. Greeted with charmingly decorated table and glass of Prosecco.
Made for a wonderful Christmas far away from home. Even supplied a FREE taxi so we could enjoy wine with dinner--the entertaining and friendly Giuseppe.

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed group lunch at La Botte prior to touring the Monreale Cathedral. The antipasti were beautifully presented and delicious, and the pork sausage the best we've had on the island. A half carafe of the house wine complemented nicely. From our table we looked out on a lovely garden hillside, and a beautiful view of Palermo, the mountains and the sea could be had from the entrance area. Highly recommended.

On our last evening of our week in Sicily, we visited La Botte. It was also the culinary climax of the week. So many fantastic dishes to choose from. The lamb was absolutely amazing! And you really have to try the dessert called "Ali Pasha". It is a semifreddo with almonds served with a hot chocolate sauce. They say it has been on the menu for more than 50 years!
Very pleasant and good service (also english speaking) and a really beautiful restaurant makes this restaurant a hit.
Check opening hours in advance. The restaurant may not be open all evenings.

Overpriced mediocre food. Group diner with main course of a skinny sausage and a few roasted potatoes. Ok eggplant appetizer and ok pasta course. Coffee was not served to us but left at a side table and no one knew it was there. Baked apple served cold. Wine in carafes was good but this is promoted as a high end restaurants with prices to match and it did not match up.

Absolutely a delightful place not to be missed and which perfectly match a visit to the splendid Monreale: great atmosphere and service with excellent Sicilian food being if course the highlight of place. Some of their best delicacies include beautiful buffet of various appetizers, pasta with glazed beef and sage sauce, the absolutely delicious Monreale pork sausages and the unbeatable "semifreddo alla mandorla con coccolato caldo" (almond parfait with hot chocolate sauce,) a must to be experienced.
"Bravo" to Chef Maurizio and his charming wife Rita!!!
