The gently lapping sea, the soft palm trees swaying in the breeze, the pretty veranda on your own suite of rooms - Cobblers Cove is made for relaxing. Kick off your shoes, lie by the pool or sit by the bar, indulge in one of head bartender Virgil's potent and delicious rum cocktails and just let the rest of the world slip away. A week here will feel like a year...and although the whole island of Barbados is worth a look it will be hard to tear yourself from the lounger, or bobbing in the calm crystal ocean at Cobblers - everything you need is right here. Even though pubs and restaurants are only a ten minute walk along the beach, The Terrace restaurant at the hotel caters wonderfully, with fresh fish every day from the hotel's fisherman, Barker - beautiful lobster, caviar and oyster evenings...and much much more. Cobbler's is a refreshingly unique pearl of a find in amongst the other soulless chain hotels.

This all-suite hotel, in the style of an English Country House, is a peaceful haven, set amidst lush gardens, right on the Caribbean. Service is impeccable, the suites all have private terrace or balcony, as well as all the mod cons. The poolside bar offers signature cocktails and the Terrace restaurant has gourmet al fresco dining, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also indulgent afternoon tea and a spa offering a variety of treatments. A truly relaxing experience.

Bliss. That would be the main word I’d use to describe my week-long stay at Cobbler’s Cove. For people with busy, busy lives this place is the ideal antidote.

A tropical peace pervades and the excellent staff go about their business with a quiet efficiency that is laced with good humour. This hustle-free, noise-free, TV-free zone is both beautiful to look at it (think tropical gardens and dreamy palm-strewn beach) and extremely comfortable to be in.

The place has more style in its little finger than many top hotels have in all their lavish acres. You get the feeling that someone like Graham Greene would approve. The daily afternoon tea, the cocktails, the general unhurried but luxuriant ambience… All added up to provide the perfect getaway for a person who drives themselves too hard in their working life.

As for the dining enjoyed in the open terrace above the beach – it was just about faultless. A daily catch brought in by the hotel’s very own fisherman (the charismatic Barker) supplements each menu and the fresh seafood was dealt with in superb ways.

Only a person looking for plenty of noise, glitz and bling could possibly dislike Cobbler’s Cove – those looking to unwind in a world of tropical luxury will run out of superlatives…

We've been to quite a few magnificent hotels in our travels but none of them match up to this delightful gem. We had a suite - in fact I think that all the rooms are suites - with a large and deliciously cool bedroom, a sitting room that looked out over the ocean. Because it is a smallish hotel, it feels more like a country house party in the middle of the Caribbean. The staff are attentive and charming and the food is terrific, wonderful fresh fish caught that day by the hotel's own fisherman.

None of the rooms have tvs, but that was a plus as far as we were concerned.

The hotel sits on the edge of a beautiful bay with turquoise waters and fine white coral sand. If you like swimming in the sea this place is perfect.

I do not often write reviews, however, Cobblers Cove warrants very positive comments. We stayed here for 8 days, and it was quite simply one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at anywhere. The hotel itself feels like a private country club on a the beautiful Caribbean. Our room, a superior suite with balcony, was beautiful inside and modern, clean, and comfortable with good air conditioning (the pictures on the web are, unlike most establishments, not nearly as impressive as the actual resort). There was wireless complimentary internet available in the room and throughout the hotel to keep in touch with email etc. The hotel staff was wonderful from the moment we started our vacation, and nothing was too much trouble. The staff, including Randall Wilkie, Hazel, Keith, Phillip, to name a few, were always kind, courteous, not intrusive, but available to assist in any way possible.

The restaurant was quite simply amazing--as good as some of the best in NYC, using fresh ingredients from Barbados. Drinks were equally wonderful (mango daquiri). I really cannot say enough about this hotel. Most importantly, we will be returning as soon as possible.

From the moment we arrived the staff and Manager of Cobblers Cove made us feel like we were the only guests that mattered. Never was it too much trouble to help or explain anything, bringing anything from menus, to drinks while we laid out by the pool - it was always service with a 'genuine' smile.
Food was outstanding, and I mean outstanding - not one day were we ever disappointed.
Cobblers Cove is a very unique hotel , which still manages to retain a West Indian feel and flare. the eight days we were there I felt I was in a beautiful tropical bubble. I really didn't want to leave and having stayed in all but one of the hotels along the West Coast this has to be my favourite.
Thank you Cobblers and I hope to see you again soon.

This is a little late in writing but felt that in these difficult times, recession and all, that this hotel needs some positive comments.
We have been visiting since 2005 and the location is absolutely superb, staff professional and courteous at all times. They are pleasant, warm and will do whatever is required in order to make you feel important.
The rooms are very colonial and whilst not ultra modern in todays expectations, they are perfect for the setting somehow.
The standard of food is very high and the chefs are very talented in their presentation.
If it is peace and quiet that you want, then this is the hotel for you. If you want a night life then although entertainment is provided, it will not go on to the early hours and therefore you may be a little bored and would need to seek out a different environment for your needs. For us this is ideal and the perfect way to relax.
