Lovely staff and food very very good . Reasonably priced compared to other top restaurants in Barbados. The Decor is classy and the setting is very very nice we sat on the lower deck and it was fine. the bar is classy also.. the upper deck is probably were to go, but of a night from 6.30 its dark and maybe better on the lower deck as you are closer to the sea. But maybe ask for the upper deck ???

We found this place by accident and decided to go in for lunch, what a beautiful
restaurant we both enjoyed the steak followed by Sticky toffee pudding. The staff were really nice couldn’t do enough for us, I would definitely recommend a visit if in Barbados.

Very disappointed. A beautiful restaurant with reasonable local reviews, but on our visit, unfortunately, Hugo's only delivered unfriendly pretention.

The restaurant was more than half empty all evening, but the manager was still happy to offer us a bad table on the lower deck. The wine service was poor and the wait staff were disinterested to the point of rudeness - the lack of clientele became less and less of a surprise the longer we were there.

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good or memorable either. The quality of restaurant food in Barbados is generally very high across the board and we expected Hugo's to deliver better to justify their mark-up.

At night, the seafront location is rendered almost redundant as there isn't enything nearby and patrons look out into black nothingness.

There is a sense that Hugo's is reliant on the famous names who occasionally walk through its doors and as a result makes no effort to be excellent. In short, expect some limited style (the decor is nice), but absolutely no class or finesse. To anyone who eats regularly in fine dining restaurants, or is planning to treat themselves with a trip to Hugo's, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

Thanks for your response , i am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your dinner or the service that evening , all other guest that dined that evening enjoyed themselves both on the upper level and the lower level .

Our view at Hugo's is a 180 degree view of the ocean and all tables face the ocean , as for the wine service, there was a somellier present that dealt with your table that evening and the other 6 tables on your level.

At Hugo's all of our guest are very important to us and we treasure their business.

Have been looking forward to visiting this restaurant for some time . Having visited its sister properties the high end decor was no surprise but I think this is the best of the three.

Bar is beautiful and more intimate than their other two properties and service was extremely personable and genuine.

Dining is split over two levels , a larger terrace on the ground and an upper level mezzanine , the upper tier would appear to have a higher table rank in the opinion of the restaurant as it has the higher elevation and beach views but I thought all were pretty good except the table at the entrance to the bar.

Food was mixed , two dishes were extremely good two were rather more prosaic. The starters appeared pre-prepped which I don’t have an issue with but they were fridge cold on delivery.

We dined on a Thursday and there was an excellent guitarist playing , strangely he was downstairs and most people seated upstairs which seemed rather odd. However, we requested to be seated downstairs for dessert and they happily obliged.

Would certainly return and especially on a Thursday , nice to have a more upscale experience up north.
