This is our second visit to mistle cove and we love it. Great location on the beach front and in the thick of things in st lawrence gap. What a chore eating breakfast on the patio overlooking the sea!!
Its a great place and very reasonably priced. Cant wait to come back again. Thanks to the owner of room 101

This was our first time here, and we did not stay long enough. Unit #307 was unbelievable in terms of the decor, floor plan and view. What a wonderful place to stay with a family. The beach is a little rocky right out front, but Dover beach and others are within a 2 minute walk. The pool is refreshing and quiet and the grounds well kept. It was not noisy at all being in St. Lawrence Gap and proved to be very convenient for walking. You can be confident that if you stay here, you will enjoy your time in Barbados even more.

Room Tip: I can only attest to the fact that #307 was fabulous. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, high quality kitchen and...

We have stayed at this superb penthouse apartment on three occasions now and will be back again I am sure! The apartment is spacious, very well designed, beautiful furnishings, all to an extremely high standard. The main bedroom has huge windows on all three walls plus patio doors, all looking out onto the gorgeous ocean. Guests will want for nothing, the kitchen has more than you will ever need, plus there are CD players, full cable TV and all the gadgets if you wanted to spend some time in the apartment. St Lawrence Gap is a fabulous little strip just off the main road and the apartments are right in the middle, so you can just step outside and find exclusive high end restaurants with the most amazing menus, as well as the local Bajan chicken, rice and sweetcorn being freshly cooked every evening on set up stalls by the roadside. Plus there are gift shops, a local mini-mart, public beaches and coffee shops all a few steps away.... See my pics for details of the apartment, it really is stunning and excellent value for money considering the location and the size, standard and comfort of the apartment. 100% delighted with it!

Room Tip: Apartment has three large double bedrooms, the main bedroom at the back of the apartment overlooks t...

My partner and I stayed at Mistle Cove in the Penthouse West last year in August/September 2011 and for us literally a dream came true, it sincerely was the best holiday we ever had. We are returning again this year!

The panoramic view of the ocean is breathtaking, we could have spent the whole of our holiday on the deck just indulging in the sounds of the waves and looking out for the turtles swimming in the sea. On occasion we took a refreshing dip in our very own plunge pool on the deck, enjoying ice cold drinks and living the dream.

We were lucky enough to experience turtle eggs hatching directly on Mistle Cove’s private beach and watch how the tiny turtles hobble along into the sea…a once in a life time experience! Conterminous to the private beach is Dover Beach which is a beautiful long beach ideal for walking and water sports.

The kitchen has everything you need, a big American fridge freezer including ice dispenser, dishwasher, a big cooker etc and is very spacious. We cooked most evenings because the stunning view gave us a first class table which really was hard to beat.
But for those who prefer to go out, due to the convenient location everything one needs is close by: restaurants, the bank, shops etc and everyone is so friendly and the Bajan laid back attitude is exactly what you need when you are on holiday.

Just to say a last few words about the Penthouse directly, it is very spacious (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a very big open plan kitchen-lounge-dining area) and clean. We cannot stress enough how stunning the view is and the large deck is pure luxury.

We are counting the days to our next stay and would, with complete confidence recommend Penthouse West Mistle Cove to anyone who wants an unforgettable holiday.

I feel as though I should put forward a reply to the opinions voiced by “Notsquare” regarding the Penthouse #514 at Mistle Cove. My wife and I are currently holidaying in the aforementioned apartment – this being our 12th visit to MC.
Regarding the cockroach problem – I think any visitor to tropical climes must come to terms with the fact that no matter how well a property is cared for insects, lizards and no end of things can find their way into the property. With regards to coackroaches – we have never had a problem at MC and the fact that there were only 2 (if there had been roaches “in residence at #514” there would certainly have been more than 2) would indicate that they could quite easily have flown in through an open door or window. It is unusual actually to see roaches out and about during the day as they are normally nocturnal. All the apartments at MC have a monthly anti-insect spraying – as it happens this months took place today.

“Notsquare” mentions burnt out light bulbs and master bedroom door knobs. If this was a hotel one would have called reception and the problems would have been rectified. So it begs the question as to why they didn’t ring #514’s reception – Mrs Jenny Banfield – and she would have sorted out the problem. I can imagine that we may have been the next guests at #514 as, presumably, “Notsquare's” solution for the bedroom door knob sticking was to shove a piece of paper wedging the knob open and making it inoperable. The actual solution was to remove the paper and spray the lock with WD40 – again something that Mrs Banfield would have attended to – had she been asked. I also assume that “Notsquare” did not report those burnt out bulbs as we also had some defective bulbs when we arrived – within an hour Mrs Banfield had been to the property assessed what was needed and replaced the defective bulbs.

So, to summarise, I think anyone coming to the tropical climes should be aware of some of the downsides – heat, insects (less than other places and none poisonous), the toll that salt laden sea spray/air has on virtually everything, especially electrics.
The upside of coming to Barbados and staying at MC – marvellous views, laid back Bajan atmosphere, friendly people, warm blue seas and, for the most time, the gorgeous weather.

Will we being coming back to Barbados and #514 Mistle Cove – you bet we will.
