Had their Flying Fish and very much enjoyed it. Nice view. Good service. Not cheap but we felt it was worth the money.

“The best in The Gap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

Definately the best restaurant in The Gap. Great setting right by the water. Quality of food is excellent and I can defiantely recommend the flying fish. We got a table without a reservation but if you want a waterside table it would be best to book in advance.

Pisces is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, located on the small bay just past the entrance to St. Lawrence Gap.

We had reservations for 6.30. At the entrance to Pisces, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive during our entire stay.

We started with a glass of red and a glass of white wine. Fresh rolls were then brought to our table.

For a starter I ordered the green salad with beets, pine nuts, and small grapefruit wedges. The dressing was very tasty yet light. My husband ordered deep fried jumbo shrimp with two dipping sauces – a flavoured curry and a sweet chilli sauce. Both appetisers were very good.

For the main course, I ordered the special -- two 5 ounce lobster tails in butter sauce. I opted for Caesar salad instead of potatoes. My husband ordered the rib eye steak.

The lobster was plated beautifully -- presented in the shell and accompanied by large wedges of carrot, eggplant, broccoli and butternut squash.
There were two lobster tails split into two, so in effect it looked as though there were four lobster tails. I couldn’t eat it all and had to share...!
The Caesar salad was very good, with crunchy croutons and copious shavings of parmesan cheese. The dressing was light but sufficient.

The steak, topped with fried wild mushrooms and drizzled with a green peppercorn gravy, was served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with broccoli, kale and butternut squash. It was ordered medium well, and it was cooked perfectly.

We were also brought an order of delicious home-made chips, served in a metal cone lined with newspaper. Attached to the side of the cone was a small cup that contained ketchup.

For dessert, we ordered the banana gallette -- bananas in filo pastry drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Again, delicious!

Pisces is the perfect restaurant for a special meal. It is expensive, but the professional service and amazing food justify the price.

We visited on Valentines Day so it was pretty busy. For the best seats....sat by an right overlooking the beach I would definately book in advance. Given the event service was still pretty good. I had the Lamb Shank (about 25 pounds sterling) with garlic mash and vegetables. Lovely lamb, very nice mash and veg....only complaint pathetic amount of mash and veg.
My partner had there slant on English Fish and chips (about 18 pounds sterling). Good portion and superb!!

“Best restaurant of our visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

PIsces delivered the best dining experience of our one week trip to Barbados. The location and view are clearly outstanding, the service very friendly, courteous, polite, and reasonably prompt. The lobster tails, ceviche, seared tuna, and lobster/pasta dishes were well prepared and delicioulsy seasoned. Bread pudding and a mango sorbet were great finishes. Best food out of the Tides, Tapas, The Grille (Hilton), Pat's (Oistins). Probably tied with the Tides for the view with Tapas very owe behind!
