This beach was nice and clean, soft white sand, lots of little shops and take out food. Go to chicken George's best mango smoothie in town!

what do you want? It's right there! We pack our own refreshments in a cooler bag, grab cold beers from the vendors in the park a few steps behind the lounge chairs, and stay ALL DAY! The boardwalk starts there, so you can wander down to other beaches, or restaurants without going on the crazy streets! Beach Boys are really fine folks, and the lifeguards are the best. we watched a rescue one day--impressive! YES--waves for the bodysurfers, and calmer water at L end for the Mamas to float and enjoy. Quayside Mall directly across st. for more suntan lotion, and ANYthing else you could need .Chefettes' for rotis, ice cream or whatever. Rockley has it all. If you do need pristine tourist-y attention and quiet --- go away! We all LOVE Rockley for the action ! Barbados is in THIS area, where the locals enjoy the fun as well as the visitors. OH, and the changing/bathroom station is safe and clean, too. Have been to BBDS, from Maine, USA for 12 years !!!! This area on south coast is not fancy--perfect for us, and we will return!

good beach with beautiful sand, clear water with reasonable waves, lifeguards and beach chairs / brollies. Visited with teenage neice and she loved it as did my wife who thought the waves were great fun, not so scary as the east coast.

Also known as Accra beach there are plenty of sun loungers and beach umbrellas ( essential to keep cool). to hire for a very reasonable price. Plenty of places to get food and drink. Beaches are sandy and the sea is a great way to cool off. There is a reassuring presence of coast guards too. It was one of our favourite beaches of the holiday.

The waves are big enough to body surf but not too big that our 7 year old was ever caught in an undertow. It is at the end of the boardwalk so it was easy to access. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent if you need. There are a few vendors there with jewelry or clothing if you are in the mood to shop.
