enjoyed most of the tapas dishes but tortilla cold and not cooked properly. Costly for what we got and the high chairs and tables not too comfortable to sit and eat on

Tapas is set in a beautiful location on the lively south coast.

My review is based on just one visit and we opted for the more casual Tapas food, which might not be representative of everyone's experience, so take this review with a pinch of salt. The food was ok, no better no worse than expected, but we just left feeling that the whole experience should have delighted us more given what we'd heard and the image it protrudes.

There was the first attempt to eat there literally the evening we arrived, jet lagged and a bit tired. We hadn't booked, but the reception we got as a "walk in" didn't do much to make us feel welcome. They offered us a stool at a bar table in the car park, but as soon as we sat down the rain started, so we left, a bit dejected after our long trip.

Next time around, we booked. The reception was still a little frosty, and we were seated right by the bar and kitchen entrance which wasn't great. We asked if we could sit on the veranda by the sea, but they claimed the tables were all booked. We kept our eye on them during our meal but they remained empty. Perhaps we weren't considered fit material for advertising the restaurant?

We may have been unlucky and perhaps we were in the wrong mindset after our first attempted visit. The whole experience, whilst it wasn't horrible, just felt rather non descript given the prices and the ambience it protrudes. I've had much better experiences in London for less money, albeit without the wonderful view.

If you do visit Tapas, book in peak season and be very specific about the table you want, or you may end up with one of the least desirable ones as we did.

I came out to Barbados October 2012. This is one place to go out and eat. Really nice food, great value for money, spoilt for choice as the menu had a great selection, beautiful view of the sea which is really romantic sunset. But.... The staff was really slow, that was the only downfall

This is a great restaurant right on the seafront. Food is very good and beautifully presented. Prices not unduly cheap, but the whole experience is worth it.

Sit at the bar and nibble the night away, no need for expensive big meals, just order plates of the tapas, good cocktails and good wine list.
Good place to sit and watch the boardwalk .
