“Ocean view suites are excellent”
Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

We have just returned from the savannah which is a great hotel with friendly staff, pools clean, good choice of food and cocktails.
It is set in a great location and the grounds are kept tidy and clean.
Reception staff, cleaners, waiters and waitresses and chef were all friendly and the morning omelettes are excellent.
Spa prices are high and staff not very chatty, I cancelled my manicure and went next door to Amaryllis nail bar and hairdressers who were very friendly and prices lower.
Only criticism of the hotel is there are a lot of steps and these and paths are extremely slippy when wet, 2 people slipped whilst we were there, also difficult for people with mobility problems or small children in pushchairs. The hotel have tried to minimise the risk by putting hazard signs everywhere warning of slippy floors but there is no alternative if you want to leave your room.
Great holiday and well priced hotel with great staff!

The hotel is well situated. Although built onto a hill, the hotel covers five levels, the route from reception to beach is manageable to those who can handle a few steps as there is a lift to most quarters.
My room was well furnished and serviced on a daily basis. I found the towel changes rather strange. On occasions I had numerous bathroom and poolside towels but sometimes no face cloth or bath mat!
There are three meal options, and again this can be confusing as to which is available. On the all inclusive package, breakfasts are taken in Rachels, lunches in Drifters, and on most evening a choice of either. I only eat in drifters on the first night. Having discovered the quality of the food on the a la carte and table d'hote menus in Rachels; there really was no choice to be made. The third restaurant, ChopStix, is rarely used and this is a shame. The quality of the Asian influenced food, including some wonderful sushi, was quite exception and at an additional supplement of B$25 (£8.33), this was a bargain. In all restaurants, the service was excellent.
The pools are well laid out, one a meandering path along the middle of the hotel.
The craft shop was well stoked with a range of souvenirs, and the spa offered a good range of services.

This hotel is in a good location in between Bridgetown and St Lawrence Gap which can both be accessed by buses which stop outside the hotel. I have stayed in a lot of all inclusive hotels and this is probably the best for variety and quality of food. We upgraded to the Club Package which was worth it for the extras such as the deck for sunbathing the beds were so comfy you could lay on them all day and the umbrellas were great for when needing some shade. Yes you do get drinks on the beach but not as often as on the deck and you can also order lunch to have on the deck if you want to. We also had a fully stocked bar in our room with all name spirits, mixers and bottled beer which was lovely as our outside space was so nice we could sit in the evening and have a drink there instead of going to the beach bar or Rachel's bar. The room we had was a king size courtyard the bed was huge and the room was lovely, bathrooms are a bit tired but hey good enough for showering etc. The hotel has lovely staff friendly, helpful and very good at what they do. Special thanks to Jackie who looked after us on the deck works her socks off all day and so lovely, Trevor first point of contact when you arrive a rum punch and shows you to your room and then anything you want to know or might need see Trevor , an asset for this hotel , Andre one of the nicest chattiest young men we met ( hotel management take note I hope this young man is on one of your management programmes and if not put him on one ) and thank you to rest of the staff who made our stay in barbados a truly relaxing holiday we will be back.

On our first visit to Barbados we selected this hotel to celebrate our ruby wedding, and what a little gem it is in its great location.
We were well looked after with drinks servered on the beach and delicious food at both Rachel’s and Drifters.
You do need sand shoes for the Savannah beach but a short walk in either direction leads you to sandy areas.
Just outside is the racetrack; well worth a visit on race day to mix with the locals and the changing of the guards is also a must.
The jeep safari is an excellent trip and an excellent way to see the island while learning about the history and way of life.
The best recommendation I can give is the fact we have booked to go again this year for my wife’s 60th birthday

Great Service, great food, nice rooms! The only negative comment I have is the lack of convenient electrical outlets on the room and the WIFI is very very poor in the rooms. Other than that, thumbs up for Savannah Beach, will recommend this hotel to anyone!

When booking here i looked at the bad reviews and was worried we'd made a bad choice we are here as i write this and having a great time. Yes the bathrooms are a little dated but perfectly useable the staff are quite friendly André at the beach bar does a fantastic cocktail and nothing is too much trouble food is good im a very fussy eater and im finding plenty to eat please please ignore the bad reviews my guess is they are written by people who expected far too much or are generally just miserable . Ive not given full marks but for value this place get's top marks actually here on honeymoon so better give my wife my attention now lol .

We chose Barbados as our honeymoon destination and we loved it. People are very friendly and make an effort for tourists. We paid a little bit extra for a seafront view room which was lovely, although the beach and sea weren't really that close. We had a bottle of champagne on arrival as a honeymoon present which was a very nice touch (even though it was probably one of the worst champagnes we have tasted but it's the thought that counts). The all inclusive package was great, choice of foods and cocktails was good. Nevertheless, it was not mentioned anywhere or by anyone that dining at Chopstix wasn't included in the package. However, the dinner there was brilliant and it was worth the money. Staff was mainly friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and quiet and we enjoyed especially the two young lads who were playing music in the evening on two occasions. We loved our honeymoon and would come back, perhaps choosing a hotel with a nicer beach though (even though the hotel itself is nice and good value for money). Thank you :)

Room Tip: Beachfront view room is not directly on a beach and is very close to the beach bar (when dinners and...
