A lovely peaceful location right on the nature reserve. This was a perfect barn for a big family get together. It had everything we needed and more! Massive rooms, thick doors to minimise noise, good outdoor areas, comfy beds and washing up liquid and hand soap included. Staycotswold.com did a great job managing our booking and were quick to reply to any questions. Highly recommended.
Just got back from a Fitness Weekend at Snipe Barn.
The Barn is amazing - bedrooms very spacious, beds comfortable, kitchen and lounge areas spacious with everything you need and very clean.
Outside space great but the weather wasn’t so we didn’t get to use the garden but the driveway worked well for circuits !!
We had bikes delivered from TY Cycles who were brilliant and cycled from the Barn - lovely countryside and quiet country roads.
We would love to go back next year.
We reserved this house to celebrate an early Christmas and my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. It was perfect for our needs. We had several couples, with kids of various ages and also parents/grandparents. Aged 2 right to 80! It was a perfect place with double beds, spacious rooms, single/twin beds and plenty of bathrooms for everyone.
The kitchen was more than adequate for a lot of meals which we planned in the house. If you want to be very local to a pub and/or pop out for a lot of meals, this place is probably not for you, as it's a bit out of the way, but for us, we loved it. The oven ran a bit hot, so just be careful!
We settled in for many a night, playing scrabble and watching TV. The internet was great in the main rooms, but a bit weak in the bedrooms at the far ends of the barn/house.
The linens and towels were plentiful and the washer and dryer were excellent - a must for an family traveling with kids!
The location was lovely for us, that out of the way feeling and yet, close enough that we made several day trips to Oxford and took advantage of the gorgeous, picturesque local pubs.
The property management company (and James in particular) were amazing. Checking in on us, answering questions all the time and very accommodating to our individual needs.
It's great that the house is all on one level. No worrying about stairs for young kids or even older family members. Also given the house is on all one level you do not get noise from above (or below) as can be the case in some houses, and the communal rooms could be easily shut off from the bedrooms if some guests stay up later than others. Also we had several family members with jet lag, and again we didn't disturb other folks as we used the kitchen in the middle of the night.
Highly recommend the house.
What a wonderful place to stay, beautiful rural area, quiet, relaxing and very private. Snipe Barn was very clean and welcoming could not fault it at all! From the booking to The day we left we were well looked after, someone to answer our questions during our stay, the booking was simple, and great communication. Our party of 13 all loved the stay, never did we feel we were under each others feet. Plently of room inside and out, the courtyard allowed the dogs to run freely, the back garden was excellent for our activities, highly recommended and will definitely try and return in the future. A big 5* from us!
We stayed in Snipe Barn for a week over the summer of 2016. There were 4 adults and 4 children which the barn catered for comfortably. The spacious dining and living areas were particularly useful with such a large group. The barn is in immaculate condition both internally and externally. The booking process was seamless and plenty of information was provided on local amenities including waitrose , garage and the local pub "the trout at tadpole bridge". I'd thoroughly recommend the snipe barn to anyone wanting to stay in the area with Oxford 20 mins away and the M25 just 90 mins away.
We stayed at Snipe Barn for a long weekend to celebrate my father’s 90th birthday. The property is wonderful – very clean, spacious, light and airy and in a beautiful, peaceful location in the middle of a nature reserve. There is plenty of seating for everyone (dining and lounging) and a big well-equipped modern kitchen. Outside there is a large table and chairs and a BBQ. There is also plenty of parking. Our only suggestion would be a bigger or extra fridge. Admittedly, we stayed on one of the hottest weekends so far this year, but we could have done with a bit more room to keep the champagne chilled!!
The staff were all very charming and helpful and the booking process couldn’t have been easier. We enjoyed walks through the nature reserve to the bird hides and also down to the River Thames and spent time watching the boats going through the lock. We would also recommend the Trout at Tadpole Bridge for a meal – the food was fantastic.
There are 2 other barns in the complex and all together you could sleep around 34 people – great for big family gatherings.
I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Snipe Barn was perfect for a big party for a weekend getaway. It had big spacious lounge, kitchen and dining areas with every piece of cutlery, crockery and amenity you'd want and expect. Nice outdoor tables and chairs. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with excellent bathrooms and showers. Lots of hot water for everyone.
The barn is in a very secluded, rural area. It seems off the beaten track, yet is close enough to get into Oxford by taxi/car fairly easily. The company organising the accommodation were efficient and helpful, sending directions and contact numbers etc promptly.
