“Nice view”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

After a steepish walk up to the citadelle through the little streets there ws a large square with a stunning view of the water and coast-line. Not sure if you can go inside or not .

“A shame they have done something with this”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

It is such a shame that they have not done something more with this building - it looks like it is in good condition and being used for something - such a historic structure should be opened up and promoted.

“Tired and in need of work”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

The citadeal abuts a large and dusty car park, and is covered in graffiti. Nothing to explain its origins or history visible

“Stroll to Citadelle”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

It is difficult to explain the strong appeal of Saint Florent on Corsica -- but let me try. First, the island displays a form of rugged beauty to visitors. Second, the history of the town is evident in sites such as the Citadelle. Third, it can give visitors a feeling of stepping back decades in time, to a simpler period when such villages we not yet commercially developed, where small shops catered to daily needs, and where the town square was a social gathering place. This spot is a bit of a throwback and very appealing to this visitor!

“Beautiful town”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The Citadelle isn't much to write home about, as it is in bad shape and a bit of a non event, but the town is gorgeous with wonderful views. The mountain road to Calvi is something else, with fantastic scenery. Highly recommended, as is the views out to sea near the Citadelle.
