Hotel Pefkos Garden
Ranked #31 of 34 Hotels in Pefkos
Reviewed August 1, 2012

I have just arrived home after a very hot and enjoyable week at the Pefkos Gardens Hotel.

Rooms small but clean and simple... Our balcony had a good view of the sea and much of the area. New sheets and towels every day this hotel was spotless.

We had booked an all inclusive deal and this was quite good but did have some faults. The roof restaurant was fantastic and we eat every day with the best view out to see you could possible have. Food was good and traditional for Greece. Families with young children may have a problem because no burgers, nuggets, fish fingers in sight and chips made one appearance in the week.. However I rated it highly, each meal had three main dishes plus everything you would need to make a fine meal at the end of the day.

Sadley too many rules to be called a fully all inclusive hotel. You can't get a cold beer until 12 noon and the bar men stick to the rules very rigidly we found we had to go the the hotel next door regularly and pay!

Also they never serve their beer in a cold glass. Most greek bars freeze their glasses but here you get a 'hot glass' straight from the dishwasher... This shows that they don't take service very seriously!

This apart the hotel is fantastic. Great position in Pefkos, gardens well kept and grounds immaculate. Reception staff very helpful but watch out for 'Basil' the main guy (manager we think) who seems to suffer the guests and finds their endless requests both anoying and unnecessary. We named him Basil after the TV hotel manager Basil Fawlty... This guy in Pefkos has got a similar approach to his guests. But he works hard and always joins the fun in the bar after his long day.

Other points to note:
Air Con expensive but efficient woke up most night freezing and had to turn it down.
TV in room had only BBC News in English
Not enough sun beds but which hotel has?
Great safe deposit box system in reception
Free Car Park opposite hotel for car hire

Room Tip: Request a room on top floor we were in 211 which had good see view. Other blocks also had sea views...

We have just returned from a weeks all inclusive, with our older children (22/17). We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had 2 rooms and paid 7E a day each room for Aircon, which was effective. The rooms were basic, but very clean, the maid service was excellent - mattresses are probably due to be replaced. Food was good and plentiful - the large selection of salads were almost the same every day (lunch/dinner) with a few changes. The main meals - particularly the potatoes, were delicious. Snacks were only availble 11-12 and 5-6, but the meals were available for a good amount of time, so this was no problem. I would advise buying a pack of bottled water for the fridge suplied in your room, as these were a necessity when leaving the hotel. A reasonable packed lunch of two large baguettes with a choice of filling, a couple of pieces of fruit and bottle of water are supplied per person if you went out for the day. Lovely atmosphere, good pool, good views and nice setting. Bar manager was very friendly and and helpful.

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were a little disappointed to hear that although we booked two rooms, only one was available. We were asked to spend the first night in a quad room which was very cramped and basic. In the morning the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful in trying to rectify the situation. The end result being a move to a nearby block of apartments (apostolis) and an upgrade from bed and breakfast to half board, and still full use of pefkos garden pool etc.

Food was a little repetitive but always served by lovely caring staff in a clean environment with lovely views across the bay.
You are spoilt for choice with numerous pool bars, restaurants etc. our favourite restaurants were kyma, philosophia and flyers, and the eclipse pool with waterfall is worth a visit too! The local people we met were all exceptionally polite and friendly which made it a pleasure to visit their establishments.

At the end of the day this is a 3 star hotel and it is unfair to expect more at this price. We enjoyed the glass bottom boat trip to Lindos and swimming Navarone bay is a must!
We would like to particularly thank Elti, Dimos and the whole team at Pefkos garden. We have had a wonderful week and hope to return in the future!

Just returned from an All Inclusive weeks stay. Hotel is located close by to all the resort facilities.
Roof top restaurant has one of the best views over the sea and coast.
Food can be a bit repatative, especially breakfast. Lunch and dinner varied, some good days some not so good. Have an open mind..
Would be good to have snacks served on the All Inclusive as not everyone wants a buffet lunch each day, A sandwich could be taken ould at 5pm but a little dry and always the same, piece of ham and cheese ( no butter).

Pool area great, new sunbeds arrived throughout the week, large pine beds with comfy matresses.

In all a good hotel for the star rating, just needs a little work on the All Inclusive.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a seaview

We are a family of 5, just returned from a weeks all inclusive stay at Pefkos Garden Hotel. As part of a 14 strong party, we were rather concerned before our trip after reading some of the reviews, however due to the price we paid we had decided to go with an open mind with the intention of probably eating out !! - What a surprise, the hotel was fantastic, located just on the edge of the village, which has plenty of bars, restaurants and also some lovely pool bars, which on a hot day shopping are ideal for a quick dip before returning to our hotel. The rooms were quite basic, but lots of storage, TV and fridge. Each room has a balcony with table and chairs,
plenty of clean linen and towels (most days)! Air con is 7 Euros a day as stated in the brochure, but works exceptionally well. The rooms were clean and a decent size. The pool area has plenty of sun beds and parasols, and a newly constructed kids playground all built by the hotel
handy man Marcus !!. The reception staff at the hotel made us feel very welcome, Elti is one of the most friendly people I have met and is a fantastic asset. The restaurant is roof top with fantastic views although gets a little hot in the evening, could do with a few fans !! However, the food was much better than we expected. Breakfast has a wide choice, fruit juices, cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, bacon, sausage eggs, etc so always something to eat. Lunch was excellent again a wide variety of choice. Dinner was very similar to lunch but always acceptable. Waiters were very pleasant and helpful. The all inclusive drinks package is also very good. Daytime snacks very limited. If you are planning days out the hotel will make you a packed lunch which was enough for a whole day !!! The Bar area and surrounding gardens are all very
well maintained and extremely pretty. The Hotel is a short stroll away from a beautiful beach, beds cost 8 Euros a day, and the sea is amazing !. Beautiful restuarants close by, especially Phylosophia which is well worth a visit, watching the sun setting over the sea and eating the most wonderful food was the perfect end to our perfect holiday. Although this is a 3* hotel, its location and facilities and friendly staff provided our group with the most amazing holiday, we will return.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view executive room and the Air Con is a must.

Like many other reviews slightly unsure what to expect. We arrived early hours. We used A2B from the airport great service they have a desk in the arrivals hall they escort you on to a bus the cost was very cheap the journey takes about 1.5 hours.. we were greeted at the hotel by Elti who made us feel VERY welcome..Took us to our room we paid extra for our seaview room. The room was great included hair dryer, plenty of hangers and storage room, flat screen tv and VERY CLEAN. also included fridge.Fantastic views of bayYou will need to pay extra for air con in your room 7 euros per day it works well...We were all inclusive, the restaurant was on the the first floor with fantastic views of bay.The meals were quite basic but we enjoyed.A lot of salad, yogurt and we thought a good selection of food was offered. The restaurant staff were always friendly and everything was very clean..The drinks offered on all inclusive were served in glasses not plastic cups as offered in some all inclusive..The one dissapoinment we booked via Sunshine and it was stated the hotel offered WIFI they do not, they offer their computers for a cheap rate or you can buy a wifi card from the Pefki Island Resort just around the corner which worked well on my iphone 5 euros for 90 minute card .The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to a LOVELY beach,to hire sunbeds it is 8 euros for a pair a day includes umbrella..the hotel has a good size swimming pool that was cleaned each morning there are plenty of sunbeds. If you want free WIFI or watch sport the Angel Bar about five minute walk is the place to go..there are a large amount of bars, cafe restaurants within easy walking distance. The whole resort is quite flat compared with many in Rhodes. It is worth a trip into Lindos we went in the evening cost for taxi 10 euros each way..Have a meal or a drink in one of the restaurants/bars with FANTASTIC VIEWS...You might get a little lost as all the tiny streets seem the same but follow the signs to the Square, thats where all the taxis are.Going back to the hotel Elti is one of the most friendly and helpful hotel staff I have come across for a LONG time. There are two fabulas restaurants on top of the beach we had the lamb shank was fantastic the service was top draw not too expensive our meal was about 15 euros..For a 3 star hotel the location, staff and food was excellent.I would 100% go back.

Room Tip: We paid extra for sea view..

Like most people have written here, we were quite dubious of our choice of holiday following reading the reviews on here. However I must say we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The reception we had was friendly. We were shown to our room which was basic but then what do you expect from a 3* hotel. It was lovely and clean with a beautiful view from our balcony. All staff were friendly and made us so welcome. Christos, the bar manager couldn't do enough to make us laugh. The food was good and the restaurant was really clean with staff efficient at cleaning tables etc. The pool was clean and was maintained well. Beautifully landscaped gardens. All in all a fantastic holiday experience set in a beautiful area and we are currently awaiting confirmation from George the hotel manager for our honeymoon next year. So, it can't be bad if we want ti go back ti the same place for such a memorable holiday. I can't wait! I hope everyone else who goes there enjoys it as much as we did. X
