Booked a late getaway to Rhodes about 1 month before travelling. Good hotel, and as most of the kids had returned to school (this was early september) it was pretty quiet. We'd booked (and paid for) a studio, but infact got a two bedroomed apartment, so we had a completely spare room where we could keep all the luggage and things that we didn't need immediately. We did self catering, reasonable supermarket onsite, and on a par pricewise with the supermarkets in town. Plenty of good tavernas in town, but there is a really nice one just along the clifftop (Philosophia) that we had lunch at several times. Steps to beach, not far, but may be a struggle for those who would not be able to climb (for example) 4 floors of stairs.Nice little bar for a bedtime ouzo (Sunset) just next door to the hotel, but very quiet and relaxed so don't worry about noise (our room was relatively close to it and we had no prblems at all. I can't offer an opinion on the food as we did not eat there during the week that we stayed. As before, there is no shortage of places to eat in town (my personal recommendations would be 'Enigma' and 'the one up the hill above the bakery not far from the taxi stand', which had some of the best presented Greek food I have had.

I absoloutley loved this holiday! We were located in Block A, which was fantastic as we had a sea view :). Although this is limited, so if you would really like a sea view then I would advise to request this when booking :)... The hotel staff were friendly, everywhere was throughly clean and well looked after. The pool was fantastic, it was relaxing by the pool, as it is spacious, so the children could play at ease :). The pool bar was great too! My only complaint was the burger! It didnt taste good at all, but it seemed this was the same for most of the resort, I guess they have different tastes to us ;)...

The main strip is about 5mins away, but it is quite a steep hill, so perhaps not the best resort for disabled persons, I know my grandad would struggle with the walk. Other than that its a nice stroll up to the strip :). Enigma is a fantastic resturant, the food is stunning, service is great and it is also a beautiful place to eat! And Jasmines cocktial bar is great, the waitresses are very friendly! We often found ourselves there as the children could play in their play area safely whilst you enjoyed a nice drink, or even a sweet! As their pancakes and waffles were scrumptious! One resturant we did not enjoy was at the end of the strip (collisium), looks like a very pretty place to eat, but the waitresses were rude the bread was stale and the food was clearly straight out of the freezer and tasteless. However every where else we ate and socialesed was FAB!

The courtyard resturant just by the hotel was fantastic and very friendly, the lady was happy to fill us in on the local history and teach us greek phrases and traditions! The food there was fantastic! It is also great for a quite night, as it is just by the hotel, relaxed and overall a perfect ngiht out :)...

The peacock bar was also fun and livley, and the angel bar was also nice, the lady their was very pasionate about the flavours of her food!

Overall the holiday was fantastic! And we will def be going again, its perfect for families with toddlers and young children as there as lots of bars and resturants with play areas for the children!

Excursion wise! We loved the glass bottom boat to Lindos, this was a great experience and very beautiful and friendly. You go past St Pauls Bay which is stunning, so make sure you have your camera handy... And the Acoplolys (or however you spell it ;)... looks stunning from the water, only tip is comfortable shoes and once to get into Lindos it is a good walk up the hill! Although their are donkeys to ride for 5 euros which makes it much more enjoyable. However having a pushchair! It was a heafty walk up the hill, once we got to the shops there was lots of delious fresly squezed orange juice being sold everywhere, which was very refreshing! The pottery in Lindos is stunning, I wish we had room in our case! It is a lovley day out, and really gives you a taste of a different culture!

The light of the lanters on the other hand to Rhodes Town (although a lovlwey excursion!) is not pushchair friendly! Desptie what your rep might tell you, there are numerous sets of steps and the streets are full of cobbles, so unless you fancy a work out I would make your own way to rhodes town if you require a pushchair. Other than that, its a lovley evening! The tour guides are fab, and very knowledgeable!

This is a stunning place to visit and I would throughly recomend the area and also the appartments that we stayed in, we really enjoyed ourselves!

Hope this helps slightly!

The hotel was largely as expected from the brochure - Very clean and bright, with the rooms a bit on the basic side. The pool was a reasonable size and the grounds were well kept and attractive. The beach really is nice (albeit very narrow in places) and the sea was lovely and clear and warm and no seaweed in site.

If I had any criticisms, it would be that the entertainment can be a bit noisy of a night (twice a week - ish) as it is outside by the pool and the sound carries. So depending on your point of view, you might not want to listen to dodgy kareoke until 11pm once a week. We decided that it was amusing entertainment, so would sit on the balcony with a glass of wine/beer and give them marks out of ten. Our room was in D Block, right by the pool, so i'm sure the blocks further away wouldnt have this problem. Also I booked a late checkout room with First Choice for £75 and when I got to the hotel the FC rep said it was only 35 euros, which I was quite hacked off about and intend to complain.

On the upside, I had a couple of minor problems with the room and when I mentioned them to reception, they got them resolved quickly and with no fuss.

On a final note, the hotel is almost entirely populated with Brits abroad. This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your point of view.

In terms of food/restaurants, here are my basic reviews:
#1 - Nicholas Taverna (go up the hill and hang a right on the main road) - lovely food and fresh veg (which is in short supply) at a good price
#2 - Elia restaurant (part of the hotel) - good all round greek food.
#3 - Philosophia - good food with amazing views across the bay, but 10% more expensive than other restaurants
#4 - Lavos(?) mare - (Turn right down the hill at the Nicholas Taverna) - lovely food and a similar view to Philophia, but less expensive
#5 - Nostalgia - Good, food with a typical menu
#6 - Enigma - I didn't really rate it, but others who went there said they had a nice meal
#7 - Jasmine Bar - the food is really british, but it has a bouncy castle and lots of kids toys, so it's great to go to for desert for the kids and beer for the grownups.

We have just returned yesterday from another fantastic holiday in Pefkos. As we had been to the Lindia Thalassa last September and stayed in A block (Nearest the beach) I e-mailed in advance to request a room in A block overlooking the sea. On arrival Maria had not only given us our request but there was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting in our room for us. We were greeted like long lost friends which made us feel extremely welcome. The room was 305 which I think must have been probably one of the best in the hotel the view was fantastic.

Our cleaner was also great, she tackled the whole of A block alone daily and our room was always spotless with clean towels and sheets daily.

The supermarket was well stocked although perhaps a little pricey but in that heat it really wasn't worth shopping around.

We were there for 10 nights and really now wish we had paid for Air con. The heat at night really was unbearable so another time would def have the air con.

We ate at Nostalgia our favourite in Pefkos. Great food, reasonable prices and brilliant service. We also ate at Elia the restaurant of Island Blue (One of our sister hotels). Again great food and service. We also went to the Greek night here which must surely be one of the best in Pefkos. Only 16 Euros . Ouzo on arrival. as much of the extensive buffet as you could eat, music, Greek dancers and singing. You could join in all the fun. The only extra was drinks. Fantastic value.

We booked a trip through Zorbas to go to Rhodes by day. Another great value trip at only 14 euros. Full day approx 8.30 to 5pm escorted coach to and from Rhodes town.

We went to Lardos by taxi one night. On Maria's recommendation we ate at Valentino's. Again must have been the best restaurant in Lardos. Quaint little place but really comes alive after dark. Not to be missed.

We also decided as last year we had done Lindos by Day we would this year try it by night. This place is magic. It really is unique. All the shops stay open and the bars and clubs are alive with the music. We ate again on Marias advice this time at Lindos Restaurant. We were given free wine for 4 as she had recommended us. It was a lovely experience sitting eating in the roof top restaurant overlooking Lindos with the Acroplois lit up in the background.

Best place for English Breakfast had to be Fuse Bar down Beach Road. Just like you would cook at home. English mum and daughter run the place and are extremely nice.

All in all we had a fantastic holiday, we didnt think we could surpass last years but we did and are already looking to return in 2011

Thank you everyone in Pefkos for giving us such a wonderful time and such happy memories. See you all next year XXX

We stayed in May 2010 for two weeks, having stayed twice before, the last time in October 2008 for three weeks for our wedding and honeymoon.
It really is just the perfect place to chill out.
We found May at the beginning of the season a lovely time to go - fairly quiet and not too hot.
We had e-mailed the hotel to request the sea view room which we had for our honeymoon and they accommodated, which was just the icing on the cake.
All of the staff are fantastic and always very friendly, but I would make a speical mention of Maria on reception who always greeted us with laughter and a big smile and made our stay perfect and Lolos at the bar, such good fun.
The rooms are always spotless and fresh towels every day.
The beach is just a couple of minutes away.
Some of our other favourite things about Pefkos - the Bakery - the best doughnuts in the world! And the boat trip from Pefkos to Lindos - the captain is such good fun and its a lovely trip.
And our favourite restaurant just up the hill, Anixis Taverna. Fantastic food, very friendly staff (and great for a wedding reception!)
Would recommend Lindia Thalassa to anyone - perfect for couples and families alike (some of our friends stayed with young children when we got married and loved - choice of the beach or the pool).
We will definately be returning next year for another piece of heaven on earth.

Arrived back 12hrs ago flight was ok dispite Rhodes Airport being a complete shambles. We had a two week holiday at the Lindia Thalassa and our first impression of the hotel (after an almost 2hr transfer!!) was it is emmacuatley presented. Nikki the receptionist is nice enough.
Our room was very clean and spacious we had a 2 bed aptmnt for me and my husband plus our 3yr old and 4yr old. The Kitchen was very basic but adaquate however it was in the hallway and no table or chairs so breakfast was eaten in bed because it was too hot to sit on balcony!
Speaking of the heat - It was 43 degrees during our stay therefore we were forced to pay £200 for one airconditioning unit - which i feel is DISGUSTING!!!! We were on a budget this year and £200 for one aircon unit in one room was an excessive amount of money to pay. They couldn't even offer fans and when we questioned the cost they insisted it was First Choice who set the price bla bla bla - needless to say an email will be winging its way to them at 9am tomorrow!
The other facilities were ok beach bar was very expensive with a pint of Magners being 5 Euros and kids drinks around £2 each . The supermarket import everything from UK which I kinda think defeats the point of going abroad and also means everything is very expensive with £3 for loaf of bread and £3 for 8 slices of cheese and 2Euro for an icecream !!!! The kids club was good but 4yrs and over not 3yrs and over like it states in there book! - oh also be very carefull in the shower the water is extremely hot. Friends of ours 6yr old son was scolded down his back by the shower and was unable to enjoy his holiday because of the pain. The hotel wouldnt take any responsibility for this!!
Overall we had a nice time the beach is lovely (small but lovely) and pool was great for the kids. We wouldnt return but know alot of people who would - of which they obviously have more moeny than us. Am undecided if I would reccommend this hotel

We've just returned from 10 days at this hotel and have had the best holiday since the children were born.

Flight left on time from Birmingham and touched down 4 hours later is Rhodes. Pretty quick to get back and on to coach to Pefkos. The transfer is just over an hour and some of the scenery is great so it goes quickly.

Arrived mid afternoon at the hotel and were greated by friendly receptionists and were very quickly in our room.

The room was two bedroomed and very spacious. We had asked for a pool view as with the children is it often easier to be nearer the pool. I think this was called Block E. As we have little children we were on the ground floor which suited us as we were right next to the sun beds and could just hope over to the sun beds in the morning and the playground was in view of our terrace so the kids could play while we enjoyed a quiet drink.

There really is very little we could fault in this hotel. The rooms are spotless, the whole hotel is kept very clean and is well maintained, absolutely no flakey paint or broken furniture to be seen. Staff are all very helpful, food is great from the snack bar, the bar staff are very entertaining and the kids club kept the boys entertained for 1.5 hours a day free of charge. Quite often I have to talk the kids in to going to the kids club but here they couldn't wait to go and managed to get more of their friends to go along as well.

The beach is also very easy to get to and probably was no more than a 2 minute walk from our room and the 60+ steps were no problem but don't forget your flip flops as they can get a bit hot in the mid day sun. The beach is narrow but clean and the kids loved playing in the sand and the sea is very very clean. We managed to go snorkelling a few times and saw some pretty interesting fish although I wouldn't be able to tell you what they were.

This hotel is not just about the great facilities provided but also the guests that it attracts. Our kids made more friends here that they have ever done before and all of them were great kids and they all looked after each other.

Pefkos is a great resort. Lots of other review have mentioned the restaurants and again we have to give these a big thumbs up. We certainly found it cheaper to eat out than we do at home and for once we have found a resort that offers good quality traditional Greek food. We were eating out for an average of 40 Euros a night for the 4 of us with drinks. Our favourite restaurant was Enigma - fab food and service. The Elia was pretty good as well and we also found that the Garden Restaurant to be good and George's. To be honest I think that most of them are pretty good. There are also some great cocktail bars and most of them have enclosed children's play areas which means that you can enjoy a relaxing drinks while the kids are playing. We seemed to finish the night at The Angel which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Staff here were very friendly and they had a great play area.

The old down side to the holiday was the 5 hour delay coming back but at least First Choice kept us in the resort rather than making us wait at the hotel so we got at voucher for an evening meal at Elia restaurant and the kids got more time to play with their friends. Well done First Choice it made the delay much more bearable than if we'd have been stuck at the airport.

Anyway, great holiday. We'll be back very soon!
