Overall, I did like this hotel but current ratings on TA won't let me give this a 3.5/Good rating. Somethings the hotel does very well but considering the high numbers of reviews it receives, it could well become complacent about the good reviews it receives. It needs to have consistent high standards and on a few things, I felt it fell just short of the mark.
Centrally located in Pefkos
Great bathrooms in superior studios including a full size bath and good shower with constant hot water
Installation of a funicular is a great step, particularly for less mobile guests or anyone who can't cope with steep hills in the heat of the day
Views across the bay
Friendly welcome from reception
Reasonable prices at the bar for food and drink
Considering how this complex is marketed by Thomson's and the high prices charged for this accommodation, we were somewhat surprised that air-con was not included in the price. Having to pay another Euro 55 was a little steep!
The air-con unit wasn't particularly powerful or effective!
Dirty windows which we couldn't see out of; the irrigation system hit the windows daily and nobody bothered checking where they hit. This caused a build up of limescale and dirt on the windows and it appears the cleaner had given up trying to clean them. This also meant the balcony was soaked through each morning so you couldn't enjoy breakfast on your balcony as all the seats were wet through.
The rooms were not thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival; mould on the bathroom tiles, smears and stickiness on the glass topped tables, floor not mopped or sweeped. Daily cleaning was kept to a minimum including not fully emptying the bin in the bathroom.
Cigarette burns in curtains and soft furnishings
Generally, it is a good hotel but I think on this occasion, just a few things let it down. Just because we stayed at the end of the season doesn't mean that standards should drop.
