Have arrived back from island blue hotel Rhodes today, having stayed 2 weeks. Had originally booke lindai thalassis sister hotel which did not open till after we arrived. First6 choice gave us the option of moving when lindia thallassis opened but we declined before travelling. The hotel is perfect in every way, breakfast food very good choice. lunches good and eveinig food typical greek with other varieties available.
We had a double room and only 2 of us. 2 showers/toilets lots of wardrobe space and 20 hangers. Large balcony, great view to sea. Cleaned every day, clean sheet and towels every other day at least.
Greek night excellent value and better that the avaerage Greek night wiere you get chheep plonk. You pay for food only and plenty of it your drinks you buy yourself so if you dont like it theres only yourself to blame .
Staff are brilliant and considering theyall appear to work all day and night, their friendlyness is second to none. There is a seperate pool by the restraunt for adults with no children around and low background music is perfect for the older guests.
The three complexes, Lindia Thalassis, Pefki island and Island Blue are a pleasure to in and i would reccomment all of them to anyone young or old.

We stayed at Island Blue last summer and had a fantastic holiday. The accommodation was outstanding, the resort kept spotlessly clean, food good and the staff very helpful. This is the first time that we have chosen to spend most of our holiday at a resorts pool rather than on a local beach.

Plenty of restaurants to choose from in Pefkos, but remember you get what you pay for and some of the cheaper ones are not so nice. We would recommend the restaurant 'Elia' at Island Blue.

The boat trip to Lindos was excellent value for money and a great day out.

Lindos is pricey but definitely worth a visit.

We've already booked to stay at Island Blue again this year.

went in October only just got round to review came home and burst water pip flooded entire house whilst we were away builders still here, thank goodness for accidental damage cover. Ok the Island Blue is a wonderful hotel/aparthotel, on arrival we were taken to our room by a golf cart we had been upgraded to a 2 bed apart both rooms had en suite bathroom with walk in showers, the decor was very contempory and very new the kitchen facilies were very good we had been left a bottle of water , there is a safe and a very good touch was an ironing board and iron, the pool was fantastic, with a very clean toilet/changing block , so you dont keep having to pop up to your room, a pool side bar with lovely hot snacks which were more meals than snacks, the other pool is located next to the upstairs restaurant with huge sun loungers, like beds, the actual restuarant food is really good we had b/b and we could nt fault any of it, fab hot breakfast that was varied and catered for all tastes and nationalities the service of the waiters and the manager was excellent and they were friendly and helpful they all join in on the greek night which is good fun with free ouzo, Island blue is located within the pefki island resort the island blue is far superior to the other two hotels in every way but mostly the accommodation , you can get to the beach via 50 steps and if you have walking difficulties or are disabled you would have to go via the main road, there is a ramp but whoever built it has no knowledge if wheelchairs, the beach is narrow but clean the resort itself is small with mostly restaurants on a main strip, it is not a noisy resort however i should imagine in peak season it would be quite packed, we ate out most nights in the hotel Elia resturantin the hotel as the food and the atmosphere was lovely, in the restuatant area is a bar a pool table and internet facilitesand a large flat screen tv, we ate out at the Philosophia which can be accessed via the hotel it is small and over looks the beach and if you dont like cats dont go they didnt cause us any problems though the food was amazing and the views wonderful, see photos, not cheap but worth it, all homemade on the spot, we also ate at the Enigma which was good. We went in Lindos one night 10 euros in a taxi it took 10 mins, order from the reception, on site a good supermarket with everything you need . I could not fault the Island Blue

Reception
Upon arrival at this hotel I could not believe my luck. The reception was very airy and spacious and very welcome after being in the hot midday sun. The reception managers checked us in promptly and said they would bring our bags to our room after they had shown us around. We had a guided tour of the resort and saw some of its six gorgeous pools, each one with a different feel and atmosphere.
Room
Our room was directly by the main pool, which was gorgeous. We were pleasantly surprised that it had a beautiful location with spacious terrace, extremely large and airy rooms, two bathrooms that were pristine and full of locally made toileteries, a fully functional, clean and well equipped kitchen and remote controlled air conditioning that was not at an added cost like most Greek hotels.
It was quite simply perfect.
Pools
The pools were brilliant, there was one for every mood. Most of our time was spent in the 'adult' pool which only meant it was more quiet and peacful. Most families flocked to the main pool outside our room, and some people went to the 'party' pool which had a bar in the water and music playing. They were all very large and clean so we loved spending time in there in the morning and evening.
Service
The room and terrace were cleaned every day of our stay where were were given fresh towels and sheets which was nice after a long day adventuring. All staff were happy to help with any small requests, we just asked for directions and advice really. There was also a small shop containing all the essentials which was a fair price for a hotel shop so we went there most evenings. I think they gave out discount vouchers upon arrival too.
Restaurant
Elia's restaurant was wonderful, we attended the Greek night which is more than reccommended fir brilliant food and entertainment at a cheaper price than anywhere else was offering.
Beach
The beach was really close via one of the other sister resorts. We went for a wander down and like the look of it and how close it was to the sea. As well as that there was a viewing deck above the sea where you could watch amazing sunsets.
Location
Ideally located a few minutes away from the town. It is in a quiet area but near the coach park and taxi rank. A taxi to the perfect Lindos was 8 Euros.
Overall
This place was just brilliant, I don't have a bad word to say about the place (except for the usual towel on deck chairs trick which could be infuriating if you internded to spend the whole day at the pool, to me this is just standard European hotals, and although frowned upon by the hotel people still did it.) It is very very reccommended and I would definately go back there today if I could.

The quality of finish and facilities at this hotel is very high. The main pools are very large and were never crowded, although you did have to join in the early morning 'reserve a sun bed' dash. Note that guests at the resorts sister hotels close by can also use the Island Blue pools.

The rooms are well equipped and finished to a high standard, with two air conditioning modules and include two shower rooms in the two bedroom apartments. Additional seating in the main room would have been useful.

Breakfast is very good with an excellent choice dishes (including fruit, cereals, breads, etc) though we did find cheesey chips a slightly strange choice for a breakfast dish. Snacks at the poolside bar were excellent.

We found all staff to be exceptionally attentive to any request or question we had.

There are many restaurants to choose from in Pefkos, never really had a bad experience in any of them, though our overall favourite was Nikolas Taverna. This can be found by turning right out of the hotel away from the main town and the taverna can be found after about a 10 minute walk on the right hand side. A quieter area, excellent host, superb food and portions, well worth a visit.

Top tip: the glass bottom boat trip (found just over the headland at the end of the beach).

Both Lindos and Rhodes town are must visits!

Only slight downside is the beach which is, for the most part, very narrow.

All in all we had a great time and made some great friends, as did our children. Would definitely return, though maybe not in August next time.

Just returned after a short break here with the family. I thought it was an excellent resort hotel, surprisingly so given how little we paid. Our 2 bedroomed apartment was spacious with two bathrooms, a galley kitchen and a balcony overlooking the pool area. It was clean, well equipped and regularly serviced. There is a choice of 3 pools, a well stocked supermarket on site and a decent restaurant. The breakfasts were excellent with a very good selection of hot and cold choices and good coffee. I do agree agree with a previous reviewer about the ropey bacon though! The hotel is right in the middle of Pefkos and there is an excellent selection of good bars and restaurants. The nearby beach however must be the narrowest one I've ever seen. It's no Southport!

I stayed at Island Blue Hotel in mid August 2010 for 2 weeks, with my family - me, my husband, our 2 boys aged 12 and 2, my sister, brother-in-law, 2 nieces aged 7 and 10 and Nanna (our Mum). So the 9 of us had 3 apartments between us.
The apatments are gorgeous, tastefully decorated, clean and spacious, with 2 separate bedrooms. One with twin beds, wardrobe/dresser and its own bathroom, and the other, a very large room with double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and own bathroom, and patio doors leading on to a large terrace - ours overlooked one of the swimming pools.
The apartments were cleaned every day by a lovely Greek lady. Only slight quibble was that the floors never seemed to be washed and the tiles get quite grubby.
The apartments have free air conditioning, much needed and very welcome to come back to when you've been melting in the heat outside!
There's a kitcenette, which has a full size fridge with small freezer, a hob, toaster, kettle and sandwich maker. This is between the 2 bedrooms. There is a safe inside the wardrobe which has a charge, payable at the reception desk (seem to remember about £35, quite a lot, but handy to have).
The grounds of the hotel are beaufully lanscaped and well kept. Always clean and looking nice.
There are 3 swimming pools at this Hotel, one "quiet" one by the restaurant, which tended to be child-free, and the 2 others which were very child-friendly, with shallow ends and lots of inflatables, people tend to buy these blow up lilos, rubber rings, turtles etc then leave them behind for others to use.. Plenty of sunbeds, though people did get up early to put towels on them to "save" them.
We had breakfast included, which you could get up until 10 am, great if you've had a late night and don't get up very early! Breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from, something for everyone - good old cooked English, cereals, croissants, fruit and even cakes! And the staff very friendly and helpful.
There's a hotel-run children's club, but we didn't use it at all, as our 4 children were so happy playing together, or we were off visiting places we had no need for it. So can't comment on that.
We hired a car for one day, from a local company, can't quite remember the cost, I think about £40... Took a drive to Butterfly Valley (lovely) and Rhodes Town, the old part beautiful and definitely good to visit. Really glad we got the car, could have had it for longer and seen more really but at least we got to see some of the island.
The Hotel is just outside the town of Pefkos, with a 5 minute walk to the street full of restaurants and bars. We went to quite a few of them. In particular we liked and would recommend - Spitaki, yummmm, gorgeous food and friendly staff, especially Lukas, who has the same name as our 2 year old, he chatted to us about his motor bikes. We also liked Eclipse, a bar with fun for adults and children alike!
The Hotel is about 5 minute walk to the beach, but we were a bit disappointed to be honest - lovely beach but very little of it, tide comes up so high it leaves hardly any sand to sit on, just enough for a sunbed and even then the water would come up under it...
A must to visit is St. Pauls Bay, beautiful little cove, and nice little beach with some good snorkelling. About 15 minutes by bus from Pefkos or 5 minutes in a taxi.
Also well worth a visit is Lindos, a short bus or taxi ride away. Stroll throgh the cobble town and take a hike up the hill to the ancient ruins (wear comfortable shoes and take a fan if you're there in the summer, it was about 40 degrees when we were there!!).
All in all a fantastic place to stay, great location, beautiful hotel wtih friendly, helpful staff and wonderful weather!!
