“August in Pefkos”
Reviewed November 1, 2011

We arrived at the Amfrititi Hotel at 7am on a Sunday morning with our little 6 year old, by 8.30 we had unpacked, changed and eating our breakfast by the pool side.
The weather we encountered over the two weeks was fantastic as was the accomodation, the friendliness of the family who run the Hotel and their staff.
The poolside bar is a great retreat when the sun gets too hot and the food and drink are reasonably priced and value for money.
We met many people around the bar from Derby, Glasgow, Jersey, London who we have kept in touch with. We have also recommended the Hotel to some of our friends who have already booked for next year, such is the charm of the Amfrititi.
There are several beaches within 2 and 5 minute walking distance, shops, bars and restaurants within 5.
All in all there is everything you would want for a family holiday.
The room we had was on the top floor overlooking the pool, it was cleaned, immaculately, every day, fresh towels, sheets etc and was large enough for the three of us, after all you only need your room to sleep and change and as long as it is clean thats all that matters.
Thank you Amfrititi for a great holiday we'll see you next year.

Just wanted to log on to say, if you are thinking of a peaceful week in Pefkos, you could do a lot worse than going to stay at the beautiful, quiet and clean Amfitriti Apartments. The staff from bar staff to cleaners are very efficient, friendly and made you feel comfortable with the stay. We were dropped off at 5am in the morning by the bus on the main road (the bus cant get down the road to the hotel) and 5 minutes later the car was there to take us to a huge, spacious lovely room with a great kitchen, bathroom and a great view balcony. We did miss our rep meeting as they had it at 10am after a 5am arrival, but anything you need in Pefkos is a 5 minute walk away. The town itself is peaceful with a main strip of shops and restaurants and a few side streets and the most glorious beach you will see. THis is not a place if you are off for a party time, there are three bars at the end of the main road "Eclipse", "Pefkos at Night" and the "Rock bar" but even they turn down music after 12. If you want peace, a nice hotel and amazing Greek food though head to the "Amfitriti" and eat at "Philosophia" (easy access up the stairs signposted from the beach" or "Spitaki" on the main road who does the best Souvlaki EVER!!

Room Tip: If you can get a first floor room the view is better and some of the balconies are under the pool le...

We stayed for the second time in the Amfitriti Hotel in a self catering studio. Everything was perfect. Upon arrival we were given the same room as last time, high floor quiet room which suited us fine, the bathroom had been refurbished since last time and the shower was excellant. The studio was cleaned everyday except sunday and fluffy white towels and bedding changed regualarly. It was nice and peaceful at night. Pefkos is a quite relaxed place (we travelled September) I hope it never changes. Lovely places to eat, Damma Damma, Keymar, Enigma were our favourites. Lees bar is nice to have a drink and watch the sunset.

we stayed in this hotel studio end of may.it was a lovely room,we went self catering, there was a toaster, kettle and a fridge.it was very clean we also had a kingsize bed,the bathroom was very modern.the maids came in every day. the problem we had was someone complained about our music/its only a ipod so its not to load.the manager told us to turn it off which we refused.the hotel was 5 minutes from the beach,it was 4 euros each sun bed.the restaurants were all close by so you was spoilt for choice.we went to lindos for the day 8euros each way well worth it.

We decided to try self catering for a week as we always go All Inclusive. We chose this hotel because it was small and we thought it would be more personal compared with the large all inclusive hotels. We definitely did the right thing. The hotel was so quaint with a lovely bar by the pool, typical greek. There are 2 pools a fairly large one and a childrens pool. Neither were freezing cold like a lot of pools, you were able to just walk in to cool down. The pools were extremely clean. Enough sun beds around the pool for everyone. The apartment we stayed in was good, nice bathroom, lots of plug sockets and dressing table/chair. The hotel is a few mins walk from the beach, which is sandy and the water so warm and clear, and about 5 mins max walk from the strip of shops, bars and restaurants. We ate out at several restaurants and the food was fantastic. I am quite a fussy eater and did not have a complaint about one meal, brilliant!! Such a good choice as well everywhere you eat. The prices were good,, on average £10 per person for a good size meal. The drinks are more expensive than here though and that is where you money goes quickly. During the day we bought soft drinks in the supermarket and took these to the beach/pool which save quite a bit. There are not many places i would return to but the Amfitriti Hotel is one i definitely would. By the way i usually get lots of mosquito bites wherever i go but did not get one in Rhodes, which was a bonus!

Room Tip: all rooms seemed well located but if you dont want people walking past dont have ground floor room

A nice little hotel, reception area is very attractive. The main drawback to us was that we were placed on the ground floor and whilst is was cooler (I had asked to change rooms but was told no chance ) there was absolutely no privacy to our patio area and it had a very "communal" feel to it which is ok if you don't mind but we did! The room was spacious but as it had no windows just the 1 patio door I felt hemmed in. Towels were changed regularly and bins emptied daily but rooms weren't swept and brushes weren't provided for us to do it ourselves.Breakfast was basic but you could eat as much as you want (as many people did!) We didn't use the pool but it looked spotlessly clean and seemed popular. A really good location and if you can you must eat at the Dama Dama , absolutely beautiful but be sure to book the night before.

Just got home from a perfect 2 week family holiday at the Amfitriti studios, Pefkos, Rhodes. The location is perfect, 2 mins one way to the beach and 5 mins the other way to the main strip. We were in a separate annexe which was basic but more than adequate for our family of 5 (2 girls of 5 and 6 and our son 4 months old). The in-laws stayed in a studio in the main block which was spotlessly clean and well furnished with all the essentials you would need. The pool, sunbeds and kids pool were very clean and well maintained while the adjoining pool bar offered a wide range of meals and snacks all very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic. There was also 3 beers and lots of other different soft drinks to choose from, all excellent value. The staff could not do enough to help, they all made a fuss of our 3 children and made them all feel special and more than welcome. We had meals out in Pefkos every night and we did not have a bad one at all, Spitaki, Enigma, Dama Dama, Hellas and Artemis are just a few who offered a great meal at a very reasonable price. The weather brilliant, did not see a cloud for two weeks and not under 35 deg all the time we were there. All in all, a brilliant family holiday - we will be going back!
