“Great Hotel”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

We stayed at the Stella Hotel, Pefkos for 2 weeks from 5th to 19th June 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We found the hotel to be very clean in all area's and were really pleased with our room. We booked a studio for 2 people. Our room was on the 1st floor of block 2, room 210, and was perfect for us. It was a studio for 3 people and had everything required for a good holiday. The water supply in both kitchen and bathroom was very powerful and the shower was great with a plentiful supply of hot water. It was well equipped for a self catering holiday, including a microwave and toaster. Our balcony was very good with the usual table and chairs plus a clothes dryer (which is extremely useful for the customary drying of beach towels, etc). Our room was cleaned every day with towels and bed linen changed every 2-3 days. Our maid was very friendly and didn't bother us early in the mornings. They get to know who gets up early and who doesn't.
In previous reviews I have read, a lot was said about the beds being hard, but we found them to be firm and comfortable, sleep was never a problem!
The hotel is in a very central location and Pefkos itself is a lovely resort with a very comfortable and safe feeling about it.
The pool area was always clean and plenty of space and sunbeds.
We don't usually return to the same place but I have to say this time I would be very happy to return to the Stella Hotel and Pefkos next year.
The local buses run from outside Pefkos By Night and are easy to use, €1.60 to Lindos and Lardos, €5.50 to Rhodes Town.
All the local supermarkets are on par with each other.
We recommend the Bambooze Bar run by Geordies' Eric and Carol for a really good night.

Room Tip: We were in room 210 which had a view of the sea and part of the pool area. Rooms on the higher floo...

This was our first time in Rhodes to celebrate our daughters wedding in nearby lindos. We arrived quite late and checked in the receptionist was very efficient and we were soon in to our two room apartment ,which was very clean and welcoming. The apartment has two large single beds pushed together and two single beds in the next room, the kitchen is well equipped with fridge, toaster hob, microwave and kettle.ther is plenty of cutlery and cups. The bathroom was again very clean with towels changed daily if you needed. The maids cleaned the rooms every day except sunday and did an excellent job.The stella is well placed for all the bars ,shops and restaurants .There is a lovely bakery and shop just up the hill with fresh croissants and pastries. We stayed around the pool most days and there are plenty of sunbeds and the pool again was very clean and inviting. We used the bar mostly during the day and the prices are very reasonable ,ther was no entertainment at the hotel just a chilled atmosphere which would suite couples or young family's .We tried a lot of the restauarants some do 3 courses for 9 euros and never had a problem.Must mention the lee beach bar ,wonderful location and food. All in all we rate the stella very high and will be back

Room Tip: rooms facing the woods are cooler

The Stella is a great value appartment hotel. We visited towards the end of May and the place was fairly quiet, but there seemed plenty of sun loungers for when the season picks up.

The room we has was spotless and was cleaned every day except Sunday by a cheerful eastern European cleaner. Aircon was an additional charge but we stumped-up for it for the last few days of our stay when it got unbearable.

There's adequate cooking facilities, but you're on holiday who wants to do lots of cooking ?

As mentioned elsewhere, the beds are rock hard. My other half was pleased as she likes a firm one (ooerr missus) but after a couple of nights even she agreed that they were too hard. We solved this by placing folded blankets inder the sheet.

The pool area was fine with a nice pool for when it gets too hot. We didn't eat there much so can't really comment on that, but the beer tasted OK.

All in all I was very happy with the hotel. Some rooms must have wonderful views, but ours looked out at a hillside. Not a problem but you might want to try to negotiate a room with a view (although at the cost of more stairs).

My wife and I stayed in the last week of May, and must say we thouroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. We arrived pretty late, but check in was quick and friendly and were directed to our room. Our room was spacious, clean and relatively modern, considering we were in the "old" block. The terrace was of good size, but no sun got to it, so nice and cool during the day. Aircon was an extra charge of approx 55 euros a week. Reasonable. Did a good job. Ok, so there was no entertainment, but you do get a happy hour and a late night cap time at the bar, but thankfully hardly any kids, and it seems this establishment is visited by more mature guests... This suited us fine as we were seeking a quiet and relaxing time, and plenty of sunbeds were found with a nice cool pool to cool down.
Rooms were always kept clean, beds made daily and towels changed every 2nd day without asking.
Beds were a bit hard though...
We did not have to consult the reception at all during our stay, and spoke to Joy at the end of our stay who was a joy.
One thing we learned however NEVER to use Thomas Cook again and book directly with the hotel...

I've just come back from my 5th stay at Stella, more in future planned, and as always had wonderful time, didn't want to come home! The apartments and studios are delightful, pristinely decorated and cheerful colour scheme. Well appointed too:hair dryer, microwave, toaster. The beds cool and firm, just the way I like! Staff always friendly and helpful.
Ans the resort really beautiful: lovely flowers trees, landscape and light.

Room Tip: depends what you want.......

Sayed in room 317 , 25/05 till 02/06 , location is absolutely perfect , rooms are huge and clean , this is an apartment block not a hotel so expect nothing more , staff were pleasant whilst being non intrusive .
The weather was ok 4 hot days , 3 warm but cloudy day , the resort was quiet until the Wednesday and this was a shame .
Will we stay in peg jobs again , yes absolutely because the people are phenomenal , would we stay at Stella again yes if the price was right .

Well what can you say that have not been said already. we stayed at the stella hotel in may 8/22 this year. we spoke to stella a few times before arrivings there about having a room with a specail view we was not let down we were given room 509 well what a view we had thanks stella fot that. this was our first time to Pefkos but cant wait til next year. what you must understand stella has a little empire there is nothing she and her family cant offer you and most of it is in the hotel it s self . we did find the air con a bit on the pricey side but thats life . we meet so many lovely people from all over the uk , but in our stay there we only seen one foriegen couple . so too me you dont have all the russias ana itailys there. yes the beds are a bit hard so what i counted 100 sun beds while we were there and i bet 60 were empty take your pick . all the staff are great too yes you JOY and RWANDAA the night lady could go on and on so til next may have a great season 2013.
