If you arrive after 6pm the manager refuses to arrange air conditioning until the next evening, as he is also the barman. There is no reception desk, so the taciturn Thomson rep (not Stuart, he was brilliant) had to help us find our apartment which took a while in the pitch black.
The Eclipse Bar below starts blaring loud music every night at 9pm until 2am and projected a large circle up and down the cliff face next to our apartment.
There were no bedside lights or washing line.

On the plus side, the apartments are roomy, cleaned beautifully 6 times a week, there's a great sea view and the pool is large and well kept.

i stayed at the marianthi the same two weeks as johnrwales.
and to be fair we was two blocks away but did not hear any noise from the eclipse bar, well only if you leave the doors open at night, which was not needed as we paid for aircon.
the swimming pool was beautiful. people said before that theyre towels and linen was never changed. well ours room was cleaned every day except sundays and towels and linen was changed every other day.
there are 3 nearby beaches. i would recomend the main beach as i felt that the sea was nicer. enigma, nostagia and terspis were the best restaurants for food. however terspis did rush you a bit.

after reading the latest reviews felt i had to add my opinion as balance. These apartments are cheap and cheerful, they are in a great location in a lovely resort.
we did not notice any load music after 1am - and as we were sat in the eagle bar at that time every night i think we'd have noticed it, also outside the bar at 1am every morning were police cars - monitoring the sound levels and ensuring that the music had stopped.
There were ants in our apartment when we arrived (obviously previous occupants not very careful with their food!!!!) so instead of whining about it i went and bought some ant killer spray - 5 minutes later - bobs your uncle no ants.
i have never stayed in any apartment in europe where you didn't have to pay for air con. hey, you're on holiday - relax.
we had a great time with lovely people, Stuart the rep aptly put it " youcan please some of the people..........." he was readily available, cheerful and lets face it has to put up and tolerate some miserable people - give him a pay rise!
Dimitri the owner is a lovely guy, from a lovely family, Beetu and his beautiful wife and son were efficient and friendly. No dogs.
don't be put off by reviews, go there, relax and enjoy x

Just arrived back from the Marianthi Apartments in Pefkos,
I would love to say it was a fabulous 2 weeks as the weather was like on another
planet compared to the UK ( but over 40 degrees + is pretty hot everyday ! )

Having stayed 3 years ago at the Pefkos Beach apartments and having a wonderful week, we looked forward to returning to Pefkos as it is a good sized resort for families and the Marianthi Apartments looked well suited for a quiet family holiday from the Thompson brochure. However we feel we have been very let down by them on this occasion.

Our main thing that literally ruined the holiday was that we had no idea that a large bar come nightclub called the Eclipse bar was situated about 70 metres below our apartment block which was the last block nearest the south end of the village.

We arrived at 4am just at dawn and loved the views across the bay - we thought we had picked a winner ! But as the day progressed and we looked forward to a decent nights sleep to recharge we encountered at around 9pm loud dance music from directly below the apartments.
I like music in most cases and we hoped and waited for the music to be over by at least 11.30 - but come 12 we were starting to worry and get very agitated as we had no idea what time it would stop and on that sunday morning it finished at 1am.
I have video clips which although sound loud bear no real feedback to how loud the music was - it seemed like they had a number of large speakers pointed directly up and
the apartments - and to make it worse the noise was bouncing off the cliffs directly behind the apartments to make things twice as bad.

Closing the doors had no effect as the bass came thro the walls - it was awful.
Also once the music stopped the very drunken revellers just kept on partying , screaming , chanting you name it it was all going off down there.

Feeling like we had a hangover - the next day we complained to the Thompson rep
Stuart and he laughed and told us he had had plenty of complaints about the noise from the bar and he had constantly reported this to Thompsons over the last year - so we asked why they still described the apartments as a quiet family orientated establishment - but he shrugged his shoulders and said he had no idea. This to me is a typical rep attitude the industry over.

He made no offer to do anything for us and we felt not to ruin the holiday by stressing
out trying to get moved we would stick it out.
But over the next 2 weeks we found numerous problems which will ensure we never visit these apartments again:

We spent 5 days getting the staff to fix our non working shower - after a number of pretend attempts - they eventually fitted a new mixer unit which could have been done on the first day of complaint.

We suffered with finding cockroaches in the apartment everynight for well over a week.
But worse than this was the ant problem - everyone on the ground floors was complaining about ants - they got in everywhere the worse we had was when they took over the sink area and around the fridge but they got in the luggage and onto the beds-we had to beg for some spray which was as good as useless it kept them at bay for a few hours at most there were gaps between the marble patio door sills and the walls which made a perfect place for the ants to set up home and they came in thro the balcony drain holes.
We asked the nice cleaner lady for powder - but it never appeared - the staff promise quite alot but do not deliver effectively - how much of this is due to them - or down to the owner I do not know.
There was also a cockroach nest in the cleaners cupboard which was close to the groundfloor apartment doors - this did not help !!

As for the music at the Eclipse bar it kept on every night until at least 1pm - loud as if you had turned your own garden into a nightclub but to make it worse the bar extended the music on several occasions until over 3am which just about finished us off.

Sleep deprivation is no joke and has been used by many governments as a method of torture. We were told the music licence was until 1am but the owner kept the music going if he had a birthday party crowd in or such like. Allegedly they had a way of cutting the electric to the area if the police turned up,but believe me you have a hell of a job spotting the police in Rhodes - you see more coastguard jeeps or army persoonel than the thin on the ground police.

On the plus side the pool area is pretty good and the views great , the bar food is good and also the apartments are within easy walking distance of the main street. Georges restaurant did some lovely food - quiet pricey but prob the nicest we had , the Coliseum is great for atmosphere and the Stifado but chicken fillet was undercooked, lots of people rated Terpsis - Thomas beach was very nice prob better than going to the main beach and closer.

Bakery up the steep hill in the center by the Taxis was good and prob the smartest supermarket in town hard on the lungs in the heat though!
Prices in the shops and eateries are on a par or more expensive than the uk ,clothes were not cheap ,we found so many things that were twice the price of home - a tip if you rent a car early in the holiday is to head up the coast road thro Faliraki towards Rhodos town where you will find close together a Carrefour superstore and Lidl and across the road a Eurospar all offer good value and much better choice than the local pefkos supermarkets
( try the coconut and pineapple yoghurt drink in Lidl for just over 1euro - its fantastic and you cant get it in the uk lidl's believe me I have tried !) Also Lidl peaches were fantastic.
You can also save a fortune on soft drinks if you stock up - pefkos 70/80 cents per can
lidl 25 cents - believe when its hot you get thro so many !

If you love cats buy some cat food and bring some water as there are alot of ferrell ones around some look half starved - but they are generally friendly - if you hate them - shame on you !! - but watch out as they hang around lots of the restaurants !!

It does not make sense as the greeks love to put them on their postcards - but dont seem to really care that much for them.

So to sum up if you are a clubber or deaf go for the Marianthi Apartments,
If your everyone else avoid like the plague !!

Travelling with a friend for our annual girls week to Greece we prebooked the Marianthi Apartments for 1 week in July. On arrival we were confronted with a Lindian type bed (a matress on a solid block) which was double in size. Our Olympic rep said there was no other place to put us so we had to get on with the holiday. The 'studio' (no 1) was flithy dirty and the bathroom was windowless and very dirty. The sink unit in the only other room leaked water each time we washed dishes and flooded the floorspace in our sleeping area. When a handyman was called to repair the leak he damaged the electrics which left us without a frdge or cooker for the remainder of our holidays (4 days). These apartments are a joke. 16 people were 'living' in the downstairs areas however there were only 3 tables and 5 chairs avaiable to eat breakfast from. We had to take it in turn to sit each morning to eat. Air conditioning coasts 50 euros per week additional to holiday costs. The OLYMPIC holiday reps were not interested in our concerns however did take the time to fill in a holiday complaint form. If you are planning to go to Lindos, avoid these apartmetns at all costs. I have sent photographs to Olympic holidays but await a reply to me letter of complaint.
