we stayed at the mariianithi apts on sept 12 2012.when i booked i asked for a studio apt.as someone on tripadvistor mention it was bigger than an apt. we arrivied there 11 in night.so the rep had to go and look someone with a key.10mins later a man comes and takes us to our room.he was surprised there was only 2 of us.the apt had 2 big bedrooms with fresh smelling sheets,a kitchen spaceous.bathroom and 2 balconys and it was spotless it was great cause we have been shocked with some apts we stayed in greece over the years..we was very happy .in the morning we had a fab view looking over pelkos the local bus stop was at bottom of hill so was all shops ,bars etc.good location.everywhere in the marianthi was spotless, the pool was great and plently of sunbeds.the staff were friendly and would help you in anyway.the only down fall was it was on a bit of a incline from main road then we had 22 steps to our apt so by the time i got to my room i was breathless, would i stay there again ,yes, would i recommend yes.

Room Tip: ask for studio apt

Booked through Thomas Cook so arrived with rep who ensured someone came from the supermarket to let us in. Room good for Greece, large, clean with everything you'd expect apart from a bath! Never had one of those before.

Everything worked, there was a kettle, toaster and basic equipment. No tea towel supplied and only a sharp bread knife not a little one. I always enjoy the random essentials you get in a self catering kitchen.

Good pool and location, though as has been said by some - it can be quite noisy with the nearby bars playing music. We had room 7 - the only issue being the floodlight perched just above the balcony meaning it never got too dark in our room. It did mean we could always find our way back though.

One issue we had was on the first night when the owner entered our room at 1.30 a.m. Don't think there's always the greatest communication/organisation so room allocation appears to be a bit random - she hadn't realised the room was already being used. It never happened again.

Marianthi provided everything we wanted/expected from a Greek holiday, and have been on enough to say that these apartments are fine. Enjoyed the pool and the fact that you could walk to Plakia beach (sandy beach) which was our favourite of the three on offer.

The Marianthi Apartments have an excellent location elevated from the main road through the village and opposite the bus stop. The pool was lovely, the apartments although basic were clean and the bar served good, reasonably priced food. We arrived about 9pm on Wed 12/09/12 and as mentioned the bar closes at 7pm and there is no reception. We knew this however from the reviews so went down to the supermarket. We spoke to Marianthi's son who said that they had had a call from 'the office', the Marianthi was overbooked and we were being put in the Chrisanthi instead. We were not happy and said we wanted to speak to the office but they weren't open until the next day. The room at the Chrisanthi was dark, dingy, did not have a balcony and was not close to what we had booked and paid for. We said we would spend one night but were not staying there for the week - it was obviously not worth unpacking. The owner of the Chrisanthi said we could phone the office the next day from reception. We arrived at reception the next morning to be told they didn't open until 11am - more hanging around! At 11am the owner of the Chrisanthi phoned someone (supposedly 'the office' but we had our doubts) and said that the Marianthi could give us an upstairs room with a balcony for 2 nights but we would have to move on the Saturday to another room possibly with a balcony or downstairs with a terrace. We had to trudge back to the Marianthi and talk to the owners son - we insisted that we wanted to see both of the apartments we would be in - fortunately they were both fine so back down to the Chrisanthi to pack the small amount of things we had unpacked and trolley the cases back to the Marianthi. Eventually we were settled into our first apartment which had gorgeous views of the bay and sea. It was difficult to relax properly though because we knew we had to move 2 days later. The day we had to move we wanted to visit Lindos, Marinathi told us our next apartment would be available once it had been cleaned after 12noon check out. We returned from Lindos around 5pm to be told that our next apartment wouldn't be ready until 7pm so again more hanging around with luggage half unpacked and unable to have a shower until we were settled in. We refused to move our luggage until the next apartment was ready - we eventually got in and our holiday could start properly after 4 days and we were only on a 7 day holiday. Pefkos is a lovely resort, laid back, about the right size and has great restaurants and bars. I would definitely go back to Pefkos but not Marianthi Apartments. It was clear that ours was not a one off experience judging by what other holiday makers told us when we were there and the chaos when some people arrived the day we were leaving! We also got very little sleep because there was a dog belonging to a friend/relative of the owner who barked all night - we had to complain about that as well! She did let us use our room for a few hours after check out without charging us which I would like to think was some compensation for being messed around. It is a real shame because the Apartments were fine with great views and the pool one of the best in Pefkos. The apartments did not seem full and there was no problem getting a bed around the pool. If you are only going away for a week though we just found the hassle too much to put up with.

We have been to pefkos many times before, we couldnt get booked into where we usually stay so for a change we decided to stay here, when we got there, we waited for an hour for the guy behind the bar to show us our rooms, the rooms themselves were basic at first to look at, as we settled in we wentbin for showers and the hot tap wouldnt stop running for two days, the handy man came up to have a look and said he would fix it later, teo days later it was fixed. Wires were hanging out of the walls. We paid 50 euro for the aircon, they gave us a key to turn it on with but it didnt fit in because half a key was already in the hole so we had to use a knife to get it on, the aircon didnt work atall, it splurted out water every now and then, and again when we asked the guys to fix it, he will do it later, pefkos itself is a lovely place to stay and would highly recommend going there but just not to these appartments,

Firstly let me get the negative bit out of the way - as stated in other reviews the only thing letting the Marianthi apts down is no reception and the hit and miss way of getting into your apt on arrival. As we arrived (very) early hours of last Sunday morn (flight got in around 4.30 ish so we then had a wait for the hol autos desk to collect our car - desk opened at 6am - but still smiling as we were back in Greece ! ; ) .)
Anyways , arrived at Marianthi apts about 7am - plenty of parking space and apts very easy to find as on the main run into Pefkos.
Knew prior to going (as I had done my Tripadvisor homework) to check at the Eagli Pool bar , which is the bar belonging to the apts or the nearby supermarket , both closed , but there was a scrawled message with a mobile number and landline no - rang both a few times - no answer.
Now I know that all this sounds extremely frustrating to some , and I can absolutely understand if anyone had small children how annoying this would be - (and i was actually surprised at my hubbys normally short fuse in predicaments such as these - but he was unusually calm)
We sat in the shady bar area ,on the comfy sofas, looking out over the bay to Lardos enjoying the feel and peace of the town as it was waking up , and an hour later one of the staff showed up with a key for us and took us up to our 2 bed apt with equally gorgeous views of the bay.
Once we unpacked we then went down to the bar as we were on B&B (juice, coffee, toast and jam-enough to get us started pre lunch) and crashed out by the pool for the rest of the day.
The list of positives for this place do outweigh the poor check in system though. The staff (especially George who seems to man the bar single handedly most of the day) are lovely and friendly and cant do enough for you - one morning our daughter came down after us for breakfast as she did not fancy eating that morning and George offered to make her something later if she preferred .His coffee is lovely served in a large mug (and could easily match a Starbucks milky Latte)
The pool is huge , in fact we came across a few people who came to use it on a daily basis as they preferred it to their own pool.
Location is fab , right near 2 of the best bars in Pefkos ,Eclipse and the Rock Bar , about 5 mins to Aghios Thomas beach and 10 to Plakia beach , and just at the top of the main street through Pefkos village.
If they just tidied up their checking in system by maybe having a rota for staff being around at the bar area for people checking in (the only UK flights to Rhodes are Weds and Sats so a little bit of communication with their tour operators or just keeping an eye on the incoming flight times would go a long way - they even have WIFI in the bar, altho not sure if its free as we didnt use it)
However all that said , this is Greece , and all you Grecophiles out there will understand that this is the Greek way , and thats why we love it.
Would we go back to the Marianthi ? Definately !

this was our second stay and both times we have had no room on arrival. On our first visit we were allocated a room within hours and decided to give it a second try because of its excellent location.
However on our second trip we had no room and were left on the car park at 5 am after calls to thomas cook we were eventually put into a workers room
which was crammed with personal possessions and no air conditioning. It was impossible to stay here as there was no room at all and was very dirty.
we spent the day making various phone calls and eventually we were allocated a room in an adjacent block which was still under construction. we had no balcony and the air conditioning which we paid for did not work and we were refused a fan. we were forced to leave windows open which meant it was hotter in the room than outside.
the appartment was supposed to be self catering but there were no cups plates etc indesperation we had to purchase these ourselves.
having said all this pefkos is the most beautiful place and we are returning in sept staying elsewhere.

Having read some of the reviews on here, I was slightly worried about travelling to these apartments, however they were more than adaquate. The journey from the airport is a long one so it maybe worth hiring a car or taking a taxi as the coach took us nearly 2 hours with all the drop off on the way. There is not actaully a reception area here so depending on the time of arrival there may not be anybody about, but they also own the supermarket at the bottom of the road so they are not too far away. The family who run it are so very friendly and George the guy who works behind the bar too is great and makes you feel very welcome. You can get breakfast or lunch at the poolside bar which again was very reasonable. The bus stop is just at the bottom of the road and there are plenty of restaurants on your doorstep.
The appartments themselves are basic but very clean and adaquate for what is required. Ig you require air conditioning this cost 50 euros per week but was well worth it. The views too are spectacular, and with regards to the review on noise in an evening, once the shutter and door is closed you cannot hear anything outside. All in all I would definatley recommend and will definatley be returning to this very welcoming property!
