“A wonderful way to start our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

This is a perfect spot to stay if you are looking for a b&b. It is just minutes from Charlottetown, is quiet, clean and the hosts serve a wonderful breakfast. If you are allergic to cats don't let that affect your decision to stay here. Both myself and my partner are very allergic and we were completely fine. I never even so much as saw a cat hair, or a cat for that matter!

What made this b&b so great was the extra things that the hosts did. Robert remembered that I mentioned that I loved espresso and as a special treat the next two mornings we had espressos with our wonderful breakfast - sorry Robert if you get a run of people asking for espresso's after this :)

The other great thing was the hosts provided a great balance between being helpful and respecting whatever space you may have wanted making this an ideal spot to stay for anyone but especially for those who have been hesitant about choosing a b&b over a hotel.

One last thing. I am not sure if all the sheets in all the rooms were as deliciously soft as ours but I never wanted to get out of the bed in the "brothers" room. I actually debated about asking what the extra fee would be if we decided to take off with those sheets.

I would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone.

Room Tip: Brothers room was nice and breezy.

Good Afternoon and Thank You for the kind words! It was our pleasure to host you both here at Little York Bed & Breakfast! Our apologies for the delay in not responding earlier. We get comments from time to time about our sheets and all we can say is that they are 100% cotton and of a higher thread count...but we think what makes the biggest difference is that we dry our sheets the old fashioned way...outdoors on the line...with fresh island breezes...no harsh heat or chemicals. We are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves...until next time...Cheers!

Robert made us feel right at home from the minute we walked through the door. Cosy room with a big cloud-like bed in a traditional style was especially nice and we enjoyed padding around in the snuggly gowns. Was great to have the lounge available for us to sink down after a long day of sightseeing with a book and glass of wine. Yummy breakfasts every day and apple pancakes were amazing. Lovely garden too with comfy chairs to watch the sunset. Robert was very helpful in recommending top places to go on the island, including a great meal at St Ann's church for lobster. Everthing spot on!!

York is a short ride from Charlottetown. The rooms are well equipped, breakfast are good and the host could not be more accommodating. Best of all this fine B&B costs much less than those right in town. It is a great base of operations. The only caveat is that there are steep stairs. So those with physical limitations would have difficulty.

Good afternoon. Thank you so much for your kind words. Our apologies for the delay in responding to your comments. Years ago, when we were first looking at houses to buy...and we came across this house and realized that it was ten minutes to the city in one direction and ten minutes to the beaches in the other direction...we were sold on the location. We hope that the next time you visit Prince Edward Island we will have the opportunity to host you again...all the best and Thank You again...Cheers!

We were lucky enough to stay here fir a nite as we arrivinging a day early in PEI. We booked the nite before and got a discount(apparently they had a cancellation) There lose was definatalety our gain. We reserved the 2 bedroon loft which was big for just the 2 of us but was nice and spacious. Views and sunsets from our room were beautiful! The home is adorable with lots if antiques to remind u of the era if the home. The hosts were amazing very helpful about what to do on the island! Breakfast although at 8am was spectacular! Very gormet. You can tell he taught at the culinary institute! Definatalety recommend. Even though its not on the ocean it is only 10min from charlettown and a short drive to numerous beaches!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon a couple weeks ago and were extremely pleased with everything. The B&B is located on a quiet country road about 20 min or so from Charlottetown, and right down the street from the Confederation Trail. The area is very pastoral and overlooks rolling hills and farm land. We stayed in the "Parent's Room" which was spacious with high ceilings and big windows. The bed was extremely fluffy and comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were immaculate. Breakfast was serious! We started off with fresh baked homemade muffins, orange juice, coffee, tea....and then a different breakfast dish was served each morning! One morning quiche, another morning an eggs Benedict bake with hollandaise sauce, and our last morning we had pancakes with cinnamon butter. YUM! Every dish came with local PEI potatoes! Tea, coffee, and cookies were available throughout the day. Little York's host, Robert, truly understands the concept of Hospitality. My husband and I plan to stay here when we visit PEI again! Great experience.

Room Tip: Loved the Parent's Room!

This B&B is an old farmhouse, remodelled and up to date, sitting close to the attractions of the beaches of PEI and Charlottetown.
Afternoon tea is available, as are optional dinners. However, the breakfast is worth the whole visit - first class cooking with a pleasant host.
The rooms are well appointed, with luxurious bedding, gowns for the guests, and amenities such as a TV and WiFi.

All in all a pleasant experience, and a highly recommended stop over.

Good morning Woolno4816!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review and your kind words!

We are proud of our old house and the work that we have done to make it as comfortable and cozy as possible. We enjoy sharing it with as many people as we can. Being so close to Charlottetown in one direction and the beaches in the other, was one of the many reasons we chose York. We hope to host you again sometime...Cheers!

It was a one night stay in a beatiful part of the island at a very comfortable and inviting B&B.
The breakfast was lovely, warm, and colorful. I'm writing this almost a year past the stay but still remember the fresh berries presented with the morning crepes.
We so liked it we've recently been talking about using ths same place again, situated very close to the Centennial Trail which is excellent for biking.
