We got to the pension for one night without reservation on Sunday early evening. We were the only guests (3 women and 1 child). We smelled the cigarette smoke in the house but didn't mind for one night after a long drive. There was an old women who gave us rooms which were clean and with an excellent view. She said it's impossible to have a room without breakfast, the euro 24 price was breakfast incl. We set the breakfast for 8,30 in the morning and the nearest supermarket was 2km away, so plenty of time to buy groceries on Monday morning. Austrians are famous for their hospitality and rich breakfasts, homemade jams, warm bagels etc. There was one more woman in the morning, a little younger that the first one. So we sat down for few white bagels and were told there is no bread. There was one plate for all of us with 5 pieces of old salami and few triangles of processed cheese. (No, we cannot get different type of cheese.) My friend poured milk in her coffee to find big mold on the top of the milk. We were looking for something nourishing before a long hike so I asked for 2 cups of hot milk and hoped for fresh milk. We got a small jar of hot milk and were told she has no more milk. So we split the small portion between us and got 2 empty cups after a hesitation. What about eggs? That would fill me up. Sorry, there were no eggs either. After finishing breakfast and on the way out of the pension, son of my friend went to their kitchen to give something back and the women was just pulling a big egg tray out of the fridge.
We left without saying good bye, these people obviously don't want any guests.
