“Royal wedding show”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Just been to the royal wedding show and the hall is beautiful and been newly decorated with drapes and chair covers of any colour you would like. And the meals that were on offer are very well priced for what you are getting. Also the kassidy lounge up the stairs was set up for a smaller wedding ceremony beautifully! Well done on such a sucess the royal staff! What a transformation!!!

We was greeted by the owner who was very cheerful he offered to help my dad up the stairs
as he has trouble walking. The family room was amazing spotless even on top of the wardrobe.
The room was large and great value for the price. Bed was so soft didn,t want to get up for breakfast.
Breakfast was great they cater for every ones needs. We stayed as it was my Auntie, Uncles 50th wedding annivesery will stay again next time we visit them.
Thank you for a great stay
Hope to see you on four in a bed!

Stopped in here while visiting friends who live nearby and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent evening meal and a very good breakfast prepared by a very friendly female German chef. Room was very large and well priced. All in all a very pleasant experience.

We've been visiting Keith for 9 years and have had something of a love/hate relationship with The Royal, at times it's been OK but for several years the kitchen was pretty poor. For the last couple of years it's been improving and now operates at a high standard.

We ordered from the fresh specials which included a wild mushroom soup which was excellent. I was hesitant to order the duck special as I love duck, but have had some poorly prepared examples. I need not have worried; perfectly cooked and tender it came with a black cherry sauce that was a model of restraint - neither too heavy nor too sweet. Vegetables were also perfectly cooked and a welcome change from overcooked carrots and cauliflower that are all too often the afterthought stuck on the side of the plate.

Sticky toffee pudding has always been on the menu at The Royal, but its never been as good as it was tonight, the perfect cap to the meal.

Service was prompt, polite and professional. Prices are a little high by the standards of Keith but completely justified by the quality of the food. I applaud everyone involved for working to push standards to this level.

What a pleasant surprise. The menu is creative and just a little different. If you enjoy good food give this a go. Prices very reasonable for the standard.
Service was also very good.
