Great location, wonderful chateau and superb food. The owners, Caroline and Alexander are very helpful and very kind. The garden is full of old trees and fruit and with a swimming pool. We also enjoyed the view of the room.

If you're looking for a perfect place to stay: you've found it. The way Caroline & Alexander run this B&B is stunning. You feel at home from the very first moment you arrive, thanks to the warm and caring attention you receive from the hosts. Breakfast and diner are gorgeous and well taken care off. The setting of the castle is breath taking, the decoration is extraordinary. This is a 5 star hotel but with the additional personal touch you can only find in the best professionally run B&B ! A Must Do.

This is a place which you really have to visit....great people, great castle, great garden....poolhouse...vineyard etc...The food is very good and you will meet the most special people...Drink wine in the swingchair...walk to the beautiful village of La Roche Posay...
Stayed here again, as part of the Le Calabash cooking class package. Laurence and her husband Noel are incredibly caring and make sure that your stay is perfect. YOu feel right at home. The chateau is absolutely lovely and comfortable, the rooms airy, light and tastefully decorated. It is only minutes walking from the village. Can't wait to return here with my family.
I stayed here while doing a weeklong cookery course at Le Calabash... I had seen pictures but it didn't become real until we pulled into the gate and I laid eyes ona beautiful château.... It is as beautiful inside as it is outside...
My bedroom was nice and cozy, the bathroom very modern and the view was great... Each night as I laid in the very comfortable bed I couldn't believe I was sleeping in a château...
Laurence and Noël, the caretakers are so very nice and genuine.... The grounds are vast and wonderfully kept, and it is only s short walk from La Roche Posay. The only negative was leaving...
Just spent 3 nights at Chateau Valcreuse and it was a truly lovely experience.
Alexender and Caroline are the most wonderful hosts and as soon as we entered the chateau they made us feel very welcome and at home. The chateau is an absolutely beautiful building with fabulously tasteful furnishings and fittings - stylist but extremely comfortable and has such a relaxed atmosphere that you feel at home immediately!
They are charming hosts and immediately made us feel very welcome in their home and everything from the welcoming pot of tea to ensuring we were seated next to guests whom we could speak to in English and have a laugh with at dinner was wonderful. Dinner is a communal affair commencing with aperitifs in the lounge and then onto the lovely dining room (normally they eat outside but the weather was a bit on the cold side when we were there).Whilst the table d'hote menu and wine is a bit on the expensive side the dinner on both nights we ate there was amazing and well worth it - they try to create a country house atmosphere and do so very successfully. Breakfast is also superb with plenty of choice and different treats each morning and it was so special to sit on the terrace and enjoy the amazing views of the valley
When we were there all the guests were predominantly from Belgium and were all very welcoming and engaging we actually forgot we were in France!!
From the chateau its a short walk into La Roche Posey and our hosts are full of ideas as to how to enjoy the area - this is a vey special place so do go and enjoy!
