We recently spent 4 nights in Stoupa at the Lefktron during a trip around the Peloponnese and thought both were delightful. We had a really nice room overlooking the breakfast area which had a good view of the mountains and received the late afternoon sun on the balcony , just what we had asked for. The restaurants we tried were of a very good standard, and the best be encountered during our travels. You would probably need a car if you stayed more than a week as the local transport is limited, but as we had done more than enough driving we were quite happy not to go too far for a few days, but did drive the short distances to Kardamyli and Aghios Nikolaus. The villages along the coast further south looked worth a stop as we drove through, also Aeropolis where we spent a couple of hours. We are tempted to go back for a week sometime.

We recently spent a week in this hotel. We had never been to Stoupa before and had a magical time there, it is such a beautiful place with such friendly locals.
The holiday was made extra special by the lovely helpful staff at the hotel. On arrival we we're allocated our room with no fuss and no waiting about, the room was spotless and the bathroom appeared brand new. Breakfast was all homemade delicious fayre served outside on the terrace and always with a smile.
I have to thank Maria who definately went 'above and beyond' when I left some new clothes in the back of a drawer. I emailed her and she returned them to me laundered by registered delivery - you dont expect that kind of service nowadays so thank you so much.
We hope to return to your lovely hotel in the near future and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Stoupa.

Just got back from staying at the Lefktron Hotel. This really is a lovely hotel and would highly recommend it. The rooms are really big and spacious and it looked like the bathroom had also been refurbished to a very high standard and was also very spacious. Satellite TV including Sky News and BBC World News and other foreign channels. Breakfast was lovely on the patio/terrace at the back of the hotel. Plenty of choice - ham, cheese, rolls/bread, cornflakes, yoghurt, fruit salad, even jelly a few days, cakes, apples/figs. I must admit I would like to have had some toast but thats probably me just being British!!! Swimming pool area was also lovely at the front of the hotel with plenty of sunbeds. We didnt really use the bar during our stay but there seemed to a few people in there at night.

Stoupa is a lovely picturesque resort although a bit smaller than I imagined. The hotel is about 2 mins walk to the sea front. It was the first week of the season so a few places were closed or just opening up. There are a handful of restaurants, bars/cafes and shops along the front. There are also a few other restaurants around the side streets.

The main beach was lovely, although the sea was absolutely freezing. Very shallow and flat (no waves). There were sunbeds which seemed to belong to the various bars/restaurants although it wasnt really clear which beds belonged to which place but as it was the first week of the season they hadnt really set them up properly, you just went and helped yourself. Noone charged us for them although we did buy a few drinks and sandwiches from a couple of the places.

There is another beach which was about 10 mins walk away which seemed lovely and also had a few restaurants but it was very quiet so we just stuck to the main beach.

There was a bus that goes into Kalamata, stopping at Kardymilli on the way. There only seemed to be one bus at day, about 10.15. It only takes about 15 mins to get to Kardymilli and then you get 4 hours there before catching the bus back from the village square. Lovely town with a few shops, pebble beach and some ruins to look around. The bus to go into Kalamata took about 1 hour 15 minutes and you only got 2 hours there before getting the bus back so we didnt end up doing that trip.

The village of Ag Nicolaos was an hours walk from Stoupa in the other direction - a lovely walk along a proper coastal path. You could also get a bus but again there only seemed to be one a day. The village has a lovely little harbour and a few bars/restaurants, one supermarket, a bakery and one shop (that was closed).

Up behind Stoupa there is a lovely typical Greek village called Neohori. Took about an hour to walk up there, but you get magnificent views along the way and then walked back down.

There were a few trips to go on but we didnt book any.

All the restaurants we tried were very good and gave us lots of freebies like starters, desert, liqueurs and everyone was very friendly.

There was a small supermarket on the front and a big supermarket up on the main road. Also there was a bakery up by the main road. Several cash points, the main one outside the supermarket on the front but there was also one by the 2nd beach.

All in all it was a lovely place - very quiet though. Enough for a week but I think if we had been there for 2 weeks we would need to have hired a car to get about as the bus service was very limited. It seems to be the sort of resort where people go back year after year.

My first time in Greece and to the resort of Stoupa, first and foremost the hotel we chose after reading other reviews on tripadvisor, cant go wrong really its there in b&w and we wernt let down the rooms are clean comfortable with balcony and shade with the added bonus of a fridge jolly handy.

The bathroom has a built in fully tiled shower which is bigger than those ones you get in some uk B&Bs the ones you can touch all four panels at once, well this one is tops and all very clean too with clean linen and smellys everyday, although the greek ritual of bining your loo paper doesnt come quick it does eventually.

The only draw back i'd say is the pool is cold and either not heated or not switched on but thats a personal thing and something that wont spoil your stay.

We stayed B & B with breakfast served out on the upper terrace buffet style with meats cheeses bread cakes yogurts juice and coffee n tea served by the excellent staff, not to much more to say except the overall cleanliness of the hotel is spotless and as a family run establishment you can tell the owners have a finger on the pulse, we will certainly come back to Stoupa and if we will probably stay at the Lefktron.........enjoy we are :o)

We have visited Stoupa many times over the last 15 years and have often stayed at the Hotel Lefktron. We can only echo the very positive comments of the last reviewers. The Lefktron has always been a friendly family well run hotel. In recent years there has been a programme of updating and refurbishment to good effect eg the new bathrooms and the buffet breakfast. All improvements have been carried out and maintained to a very high standard. We now do not consider any other accommodation in Stoupa and judging by the number of return visitors to the Lefktron, many others also rate the hotel extremely highly. We are looking forward to our 2012 visits.

the leftron is a family run hotel, it's our forth visit, the first being 17 years ago. during that time the hotel has got better and better. the owners and staff are fantastic nothing is too much trouble for them. the hotel is very convieniently placed, with a very short walk to a magnificent beach which has several 1st class restaurants.
the hotel is spotlessly clean with a first class swimming pool. the rooms are well equiped with a lovely shower. Bed linen and towells are changed daily. breakfast is a delight taken outside and consists of several fresh homecooked local dishes with fruit such as figs peaches and pomegranite, plus homemade bread, rolls, eggs, ham, etc.
The bar is great for pre dinner drinks and nightcaps when you are sometimes treated to a piano recital, by the owners daughter.
my wife and our two friends (who we met on our first visit) spent two weeks there in august 2011.
well done to Maria and team for making our stay a memorable one

"We stayed at the Lefktron Hotel during the last weekend of September and we really enjoyed it. Lefktron is located at the heart of the charming village of Stoupa at a walking distance from the beautiful beach, shops and tavernas. The hotel's service and the room facilities exceeded our expectations. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, the bathrooms have been recently renovated and look really impressive. There is free wi-fi in the rooms and the hotel's lobby as well as satellite TV. What we enjoyed the most however was the buffet breakfast witch is served in the hotel's back-garden. It consists of home-made bread, cakes and other extras such as eggs, pies, small tomato+feta cheese sandwiches ,yoghurt and local fruits(such as figs and pomegranate wich were handpicked by surrounding trees!). The hotel's staff made has been very friendly and professional, so we would highly recommend Lefktron in Stoupa. We will definitely visit it again!"
