Apparently the apartments at the Remvi were used by Kosamar until the Excel demise. The apartments are now used by Sunvil and a Dutch tour company.
The rooms are very spacious apartments by Greek Standards have a double and a single bed in the room and a big kitchen area. The fridge is fairly new which is fortunate as the noise level these machines can make was kept to a minimum at night. The clothing cupboard space was also generous. Everywhere was newly painted, cream walls white ceiling etc. The beds fairly basic with mattresses that were a bit unforgiving. The furniture matched reasonably well (unlike the new lilac and white kettle and the peach and apricot toaster provided) and consisted of a table and four chairs, two comfy chairs, sideboard with mirror and a bedside table.
There is a TV but it only provides 14 Greek channels. The lighting consists of spotlights over the bed, good for reading but not soft lighting. The main light could light Wembley Stadium but very unique.
The kitchen was nicely tiled and had plenty of cupboard space holding various pots and pans. We did not have matching cups but a cup and a mug. There was a small mobile oven and a mobile hot plate not used by us.
Now the Achilles heel for us was a very small shower area approx 27in square , it did however, have a curtain but no place on the tiles to hang a shower rose. There was a plastic attachment with a rose that had the force ability to spray a patio but other rooms I understand had better metal attachments. Washing ones hair was like holding an anaconda between your knees whilst trying to apply shampoo to the head. After using the shower with the curtain around us found the floor was still damp the next day despite using a mop. Next door I believe did not have this problem. The plug in the wash basin did hold the water long enough for a wet shave (A long time for Greek standards). The taps had to be turned off hard to stop the drips
The door key had to be placed in an inside holder for all the electrics to function, so if you take out the key and go out everything goes off and this may include the air conditioning. Each room’s water was heated by a boiler and a switch had to be put on and it would heat in about 10mins. So you always had hot water, provided you remembered to switch it on.
The balcony had table and chairs but was west facing and was not covered in any way and in my opinion too hot to sit out in the early evening but pleasant enough in the mornings. Mosquitoes were quite prevalent even in May and it is advisable to take/or buy mosquito tablets for a machine provided in our room but cannot be sure all the rooms have one.
The room had a safe which can be hired for two Euros per day and air conditioning which costs 5 Euros a day and I feel would be essential during the summer period.
The room had a room rate on the door of 60 euro per night and 75 Euros in high season.
Summing up, a fairly good standard room for Greek Accommodation
