We sat down, ordered a cola and menu, and I asked the senior waiter where I can find a small shop to buy some food for the train in the town. The man who spoke good English to get us to sit there pretended not to understand me, and when I tried Italian (un poco negozzio) he just ignored me and walked away.
Transfer passengers pass through the town on a daily basis so he knows we have limited time and no knowledge of the area, but he didn't bother to point me in the direction of the railway kiosk 200 metres / yards across the square, nor did he bother to explain that the shops on the nearby main road have a siesta between 1pm and 3pm.
He could have saved me the footwork and the need to find it out for myself the hard way when (as many of his transfer clients) I really didn't have the time.
The senior waiter (owner?) is very unhelpful, AVOID !
