After a long trip from Boracay, this is where my family and I ate our late lunch/early dinner meal for June 1. Cheapest and heartiest meal in our entire Boracay-Kalibo vacation. :)
This correct name of this place is Coffee Latte Cafe. The correct address is at Sta. Monica, Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines.
We ordered chunky chicken sotanghon soup, fish lumpia, bangus sisig, and a couple of desserts -- chocolate ganache and mini blueberry and cherry cheesecakes.
The chicken soup was great. It was hot and hearty enough to lift our spirits given the gloomy weather -- it was raining since morning and the soup was enough to cheer us up. The glass noodles, chicken chunks, and vegetables were satisfying.
The bangus sisig was the best! A squeeze of calamansi (Philippine lemon) gave enough tartness and dimension to the dish. Spicy, tart, with just enough saltiness enhanced the bangus flavor. The dish was purely bangus with no extenders! Worth every peso spent!
The fish lumpia was a runner up! Loved the taste with a bit of cheese that balanced the flavors well. This was a great hit with our usually picky kids.
The lychee shake was worth noting too. Iced tea was average. Desserts were average. Service from the staff was good too. The male waiter who served us was accommodating as well.
Prices were commensurate to the overall food experience. Nice interiors too -- though It would be better if the spot for the havianas merchandise would be a bit more discreet and blended with the interiors. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
