“Pit Stop!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

We'd been invited to a surprise party and as our friends had taken over the 5 rooms at Dunstan House Hotel we booked in here as it was close by. The birthday boy's wife wanted everyone back to their home on Sunday morning for bacon butties and that was what she told the owner of Magnolia House. We all decided that would be too much for our hosts and we'd all eat at our respective accommodation.

When we arrived the owner came out to meet us and I asked about breakfast because I was hoping to negotiate a slightly later time. It became very clear that because we hadn't pre-booked we could not have breakfast so I was informed that the time was irrelevant! That was no problem because our friends spoke to the people at Dunstan House and they were happy to serve us breakfast all together (see review).

Our room (4) at Magnolia House was compact, clean and tastefully decorated as was the tiny bathroom. There was a flat screen tv on the wall, a chest of drawers, a fan above the bed and tea making facilities. The room was too small for a wardrobe, but there was a great stainless steel spiral contraption to hang clothes on ~ I'd like one at home! There was a chair by the window and an iPod docking station on the chest of drawers, free wifi also available. Every door has a security numbered touchpad entry system and the light in the porch enabled us to tap in the numbers on the front door. It was around 1am when we arrived back after the party so we tip-toed in and lamps guided us upstairs to our room.

Obviously can't comment on the breakfast and we left just after 9am to join our friends at Dunstan House Hotel.

This is one of the best guest houses we have ever stayed in, they were very warm and welcoming on arrival and helpful with our queries. Our room was modern, smart, spacious and most importantly very clean. The guest house is close to the local town with plenty of shops and pubs. Brean is a 5 minute drive down the road along with other attratctions. Me and my partner are forever coming back to the Magnolia guest house as they offer an friendly and excellent service.

Room Tip: all rooms are immaculate

A fantastic place to stay in Burnham on sea,it is near the high street and sea front, the rooms are clean and decorated to a high standard, they have tea and coffee with a kettle.
We have stayed twice and both rooms were lovely.
The breakfast is a traditional english which is large and delicious.
A shining example of what a b & b should be,absolutely faultless,we were made to feel very welcome and would not hesitate to recommend them.
Can't wait to go back.
