“Ca Joan altea”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

An excellent restaurant, definitely the best we have found in Altea during our second 3 month stay. The service, presentation and food are all superb. An added bonus is No Piped Music, just the sound of Spaniards quietly enjoying themselves. We were the only foreigners present and were made very welcome. We shall return on a regular basis.

“If you like meat, this is your place.”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

To enjoy the meat with friends and family. Family atmosphere, to enjoy unhurried and enjoy a good steak. The salads are good, highly recommended Aspencat (grilled vegetables) with dried octopus. The wine list is excellent and a good price. The fruit sorbets are a good choice for dessert. Easy to find, between Altea and Calpe beside the road.

“Great food and very friendly service”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We only found this on our last day but we will seek it out early in our next holiday there. The food was excellent, its a charcoal grill restaurant which serves large portions so beware you might like to share! Both the food and the wine are very good value and the service is friendly and helpful.

“Loved this restaurant.”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

After reading great reviews on Trip Adisor of Ca Joan before my trip to Altea, I was excited to try this restaurant and it was as good as I had read it was. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids. We had a fantastic meal here, beautiful food and delicious wine. The background to the food and wine was explained to us which was very interesting. It was all locally sourced and you can tell that a lot of thought goes into this. the owner was very friendly and intresting to chat to.
The Spain V Ireland Euro 2012 game was on that evening and they set up a tv in the restaurant to watch it. We were the only Irish in the restuarant and the Spainish diners and staff had great banter with us as Spain beat us. They even donated a Spanish flag to one of the kids! We had a greta night here, greta atmosphere, friendly and excellent service. Well worth the price for a good meal if you ask me.

“A pleasant surprise”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

Even though we arrived late at night the place was welcoming, the staff was very polite and willing to help us relax and have a pleasant dinner. The food was delicious, tasty and presented in a fashionable style. The owner informed us that the next day they will offer fresh fish and "fruits de mer" so we went back the next evening and enjoy again.
