“Very disappointed”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

We visited Sabor with a couple of friends who live in Altea and who are regular customers here.Unfortunately we had a very disappointing meal. The quality of the ingredients left much to be desired, but then again maybe you get what you pay for as the meal was certainly not expensive. The local is very nicely decorated and the waiting staff were charming but I doubt that we will visit again.

“French Food Finessed”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

It’s a bit sinful not to take maximum advantage of the Spanish cuisine when in Spain. I don’t mean going to places with a name that is Spanish, not the ownership, and what ends up one your plate is neither Spanish nor anything to write home about. Of these latter there are many in this coastal area; they are best avoided. If, however, you are going to sin, it’s a good idea to do it properly! The Sabor, in Altea, is one of the few foreign run restaurants where it is worthwhile sinning to your heart’s content. It is Flemish. The Flemish have added finesse to the French Cuisine, and, it is no exaggeration to say that the Spanish dishes they serve have a touch of excellence too. Their Zarzuela, for example, is scrumptious. On the other hand, the Tiramisu – not a Spanish or a French dish, I know - was a little on the dry side. The restaurant attracts many a regular connoisseur. A reservation is advisable. If you are into good food, you’ll enjoy the experience, of that you can be assured.

“High quality food and excellent service”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

We are visiting the Costa Blanca for several years. We appreciate the beautiful nature and the mild climate. But we have one problem: as "Italian food lovers" we are most of the time disappointed of the Spanish cuisine.
Happily we found SABOR in Altea!
From the first step in the cosy restaurant welcomed by a nice staff and waiters, you feel immediatly welcome!
The service is excellent and the dishes served are of a high quality with always that little special touch!

“fantastic meal !”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

If we good at midday we take the lunch menu which is fantastic.
If we go at night, a recommender is the fish soup and the foie gras, the desserts are addictive !
The house wine is super, I had NO headache what I do have from a lot of wines.

“Lovely meal and evening”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

We found Sabor when we visited Altea for the evening. I think we took one of the last tables left inside, the terrace was already booked up. The meal was really good. It was a bit more expensive then other places we had been eating, but the food was well worth it. My boyfriend had the lamb which he really enjoyed and I had a pasta dish which was really good. The atmosphere, food and good service made it a really great evening. Definitely one to try.
