“very pretty”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Picturesque village, I recommend sitting with a coffee watching the world go by at the harbour! The town has become "touristy" but the promenade walk is lovely and lined with cafes and bars

“Lovely walk along an attractive prom!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Altea’s beach is pebbly, but despite this it has a wonderful promenade stretching the length of the beach form the port to the other end of town. There are plenty of places to stop for a leisurely meal or a drink; what can be better than to sit and watch the world go by and enjoy the beautiful sea view?

The prom is mostly traffic-free and nicely laid out with exotic plants and seating. There are a lot of small shops selling almost anything a holiday-maker could want. We thoroughly enjoyed our day out to Altea. Parking during March was not a problem; we headed for the port and found free parking without any trouble although, I imagine, the summer months would be very different! Don't be deterred by the busy main road that runs through the town, behind the prom.

“Great variety of eating establishments”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We went from Albir to Altea (not for the first time) on the bus. A walk along the front lets you eat your way around the world.

“Unspoilt pebble beach”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

You can get the no 10 bus to this beach or on the hop on hop off tour bus. Lovely pebble beach and I was told you are not allowed to take the pebbles home. Unspoilt and a nice easy walk along the Prom with lots of places to eat. A working fishing town and quieter than Benidorm. Place to visit as buses run regular and cheap to travel on

“Lovely Altea”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Beautiful colour sea, albeit stony beach. Lovely walk along the front, super shops in the main street and lovely quaint streets up the hill and the lovely church at the top with fabulous views, altogether a lovely place. Albir is down the road and the Benidorm.
