“Superb!”

An excellent restaurant with a varied menu. Helen is always on hand to make you feel welcome and Roland's cooking will delight everybody.
Scallops are particularly delicious, but then again so is everything else on the menu.
Try it; you won't be disappointed.

“Consistently at the top”
Reviewed May 25, 2011

It is nice when you enter a restaurant to see the owner chef in the open kitchen greeting you. I am a very regular guest at this restaurant and never have been deceived. For lunch, the menu is at €14 living a choice of 3 courses. The fish soup is one of my favorite, nice and very smooth but this time I took the beef carpaccio which was very delicate and refreshing. For main course, a duck magret perfectly cooked and delicious, my companion sook the mixed grill where the meat was very fresh, contrary as many other places, and very tasty. Dessert I had a coconut ice cream coupe. Served with an excellent glass of wine (sufficient for a lunch), which a excellent value to the meal. I feel this restaurant is well understated compare to Ousteau which cost more and...

“Delicious”
Reviewed October 6, 2010

If you can get a table this is the best location in Altea, overlooking the church square.
Nice atmosphere and food, maybe a bit more axpensive than other restaurants, but compared to the choices "on the square" it is this one or the Outou restaurant on the way up to the church square

“Perfection!”
Reviewed August 5, 2010

An atmospheric restaurant in the main square/old town of Altea.
The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Roland runs an excellent kitchen and his wife, Helen, is a wonderful front of house host. Everything was very well cooked, and very reasonably priced. Service was attentative and quick.
As well as the evening a la carte, they also have a lunchtime 'menu del día' for 14 euros. The food is just as good as the evening a la carte.
If you are in Altea, don't miss it!

“Endless waiting”
Reviewed August 5, 2010

Table was booked for seven, we arrived, ordered starter-drinks. It took 25 minutes before we got them. Another 30 minutes for the pre course to arrive, then an hour for the main course, and finally another hour for the dessert to reach the table. It was close to midnight (we arrived the restaurant at 8!) when the dessert finally came - by that time the kids were very tired and out of patience.
The staff admitted that it had been a very long wait for us, but they were absolutely unwilling to compensate us in any way by reducing the price.
A very unpleasant experience for all of us, and not a place we will return to.
