“Old and Need maintenance”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Pros:
- clean swimming pool
- private beach

Cons:
- dirty room and dirty cup
- called for room cleaning service and even talked face to face to clean up the room but never come
- everything other than room itself is extra charge (not value for money)

Have been going back to impiana for a couple of years now. Yes, it's getting a bit old but they still ensure that it is clean.recent trip saw that they are refurbishing up the place again which is wonderful but the price has almost double compare to last year. Sleeping with the window open is paradise...you can hear the wave the ocean comfortably inside you're cost bed...

Warm room ambience. Swimming pool not comfortable with cloudy water and got small frog inside the pool. So weired. Nice sea view. No trolley ramp for loading/unloading. No trolley path to every room. Need to walk to room quit far from car park.
We reached at night and worried about room safety because the room too far and surrounding by for forest. Especially during non peak time.
Bell man need to use more energy to pickup all the stuff and sometimes resist to carry light stuff. It's not worth for money spend.

Room Tip: Nearest to hotel lobby..

Stayed here for 2 days. The room was average with very very small TV. The air con was not cold but we don't bother as we enjoyed the sea breeze.BUT BEWARE OF THE LIZARDS IN THE ROOM! The House Keeping service was fast as our prayer mat came within few minutes after we call the reception.Breakfast was good with variety spread but the refill was more towards the bread & pastry section but not at the local spread. The staffs are all friendly & polite. The beach was awesome. The fitness centre was average.Overall, this resort is a nice & quiet place to relax.

Stayed here 2 nights with my mother, sister and nephew. We booked 2 rooms which were interconnected. The hotel has a dated feel about it but comfortable with views of the beach. All the rooms are 1st floor or above with a longish walk from the main reception area so not ideal for those with physical disabilities as there are no lifts.
The breakfast was excellent, buffet style with both Malaysian and Western food, easy to eat too much.
There is a nice outdoor swimming pool which was mostly empty whilst we were there and therefore good for swimming. The sea is rough and with rip currents, only suitable for the brave or reckless. Great walks along the beach though.
We went on the Firefly tour, great experience to see the fireflies flashing in the mangrove trees along the river. Even more amazing was when the boatman Hafiz got the flies to come to us on the boat by using his flash light to attract them. They landed on our hands and hair before flying off.
Good places to eat near Hafiz's jetty where his boats go from on the river trip to see the fireflies. Tasty Malaysian dishes cost no more than RM6 (1 pound UK). But we won't recommend the Tom Yam cafe near the Impiana (on the main road) about 1km from the hotel. The lady there charged about twice what we expected for a simple Malay dinner.
It was very windy whilst we were there which was refreshing but there can be heavy rains too in December, the monsoon season.

Room Tip: If you can't walk for ask for a room close to reception. But there are no lifts

Stayed at the hotel earlier this week, and it was our second time staying in the hotel. We had first stayed here in December last year.

The superior deluxe room was large and comfortable. After an infant next door kept us awake on our first night, our request to change room on our 2nd day was accommodated without hassle by a helpful front desk staff, which we really appreciated. It seems the hotel has provided good training to its staff as everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly (tak sombong, as Malays say).

We purposely went to Cherating in December as the monsoonal rain means fewer visitors in the east coast area. The ocean breeze was very comforting at nights, and the resort's pristine beach provided an enjoyable walk at the sunrise.

We'll definitely return to Cherating December next year, and we look forward to staying at Impiana Cherating again.

Room Tip: Avoid 228 which is next to the restaurant/ lobby. Recommend to get a 2nd floor room as the view i...

I had booked a double superior deluxe seaview room thru a promotion which cost Rm596 for 3d2n.
It is my third stay in Impiana over 10 years and I can see that the hotel is really losing its charm. The only new thing I saw was the refurbished room I got, everything else looks tired.
At the time I was there, they were replacing the wooden floorboard along the common passageway.
Buffet breakfast was average but the waiter were fast at clearing the used dishes.
Beach area and swimming pool is clean.
