My husbond and 7 month old daughter stayed one week in Gaia Garden in a deluxe room with free laptop and wireless internet plus breakfast. Booked online with hotel the night before arrival. No problems at all.
Pros: The room was adequate in size, the bed quite comfortable, and a bathtub was a perfect 'pool' for our daughter as the swimming pool was a bit too chilly for our daughter. All rooms (bungalow style attached to each ohter) has a porch where you can sit. Really great!!! We had a room at floor level (rooms are on two 'floors') with direct acces to the garden. Perfect for us as we could put a blanket on the grass for our daughter to lie on.Located on a quiet street with no traffic. Car/moto/bike rent just across the street. Beautiful setting in a wonderfull garden with plenty of palms, trees, flowers etc. Plenty of shade trhoughout the day. Great pool area with enough sun beds for everyone. Pool 3 meters deep at one end so you can take a head plunge. Lille children's pool as well attached to the main pool. Bar open all day. All inclusive can be bought for the small amount of an extra 8 EUR per person/day. Front desk very firendly, spoke Dutch/German/Greek/English. Provided baby bed (app 60 cm * 130 cm) and plenty of great high chairs at restaurant.
Cons: Gaia is a charter option for Dutch and German companies, so expect almost only Dutch and German guests. Only few independent travellers like us. Lively bar at night, so if you have a bungalow close to beach area expect some music. However, you can ask them to turn it down and they will do so - no worries. Food very bland and with very little taste, seems they cater too much to the tourist pallate, so don't expect to taste traditional Greek food here. Nice salad bar with ripe and tasty tomatoes, onions, olives fetta cheese etc, som a Greek salad is always an option. However, many options, so fussy eaters or kids would always find something for their taste buds.
Lampi area: Lampi beach 10 minutes walk away with clear and deep water, great views of Kos and the surrounding islands. Plenty of sun chairs to rent and many restaurants at beach front. Small taverna 'tsambala' 2 minutes walk from Gaia. Very friendly owner and good food - we ate there only once, but it was nice. Mini market 2 minutes walk away - opposite direction as the beach.
Overall very nice vacation!

We stayed at this hotel along with our baby Grandson on All Inclusive basis, all our us in our party, along with many other guests (which we discovered later) suffered from extreme sickness and diarrhoea therefore ate out of the hotel for the rest of our holiday. Quite a few of the other guests had suffered the same as us. Therefore this completly ruined our holiday and the best thing about it was to come home.

I have to say i am amazed at some of the reviews here, particularly American and am suspicious, wondering whether we stayed in the same place!
We were a party of five adults ages ranging from 29 to 62. We went to the Gaia Gardens towards the end of the season, October.
The hotel is situated in Lambi and it is a 20 minute walk into Kos town. A taxi costs about 6 euros either way. Gaia Gardens is in a rural setting and a five minute walk to the beach where you can hire sun beds etc.
On arrival in the early hours we were greeted by the night receptionist, a man with absolutely no manners at all. He took us through the grounds in the pitch dark to our rooms and made sure he had a torch to light his way but left us to try and follow him. He was rude and no advert for the Gaia gardens.
The rooms are basically small bungalows set in nice gardens. They are basic as are the bathrooms. There is a haridryer and a TV but unless you can speak German, Greek or Arabic dont bother. You can hire a fridge and that will cost you 30 euros for the week.
Maids clean the rooms daily and in our week sheets were changed once. Towels are thin and well worn but will get changed if you leave them on the floor. Beds reasonably comfortable but well worn like the brown wooden furniture and the frequent blood spots on the walls from previous guests splatting mozzies. Basic and tatty! We did experience problems with the room such as showers which go from stone cold to a 1000 oC in an instant and back again. This is a real danger and children should not be left in the shower unsupervised. My wife and I were scalded the first time we used it. There were frequent power cuts and we had difficulties with door locks that did not lock and sometimes came back to the room to find the door had blown open. The reception staff did not ever resolve these problems. One of our party had to move rooms on one occasion due to problems. You can hire a safety deposit box situated in the reception for 20 euros a week.
The bar area is next to a good sized unheated pool where there are plenty of soft sun beds.
The hotel is all inclusive and the food in the rather small restaurant is very good. Most people will find something to eat from the choices which are variable. However you do need to get into the restaurant as soon as it opens or you may find it difficult to get a table and the food will be cold.
The drinks are all inclusive but that menu only consists of grotty red and white wine, beer, soft drinks, water, ouzo and petrol brandy. Anything else and you have to pay for it. Another problem is that the bar staff insist on giving you a glass only half full for some reason!
We found the bar staff and hotel staff polite enough and will help if they can but they do not go out of their way to do so. The hotel is popular with Germans, Swedes and Poles and Brits are a minority.
There is absolutely no entertainment; no animation team; no childrens club or in fact anything to keep kids amused save the pool.
You can hire a car for about 45 euro a day and there are one or two interesting places on the island to visit.
In summary this is a basic hotel, 2 star which would suit maybe a young family on a budget. The more mature traveller might find better elsewhere. Dont expect 5 star at 2 star prices. One other thing if you go here then take a mozzie net and every spray and cream you can get because the mozzies here are abundant and they are vicious and will leave you and your children covered in lumps like boils. This is one reason why for me, the Greek islands, are history. I do not like being eaten alive.

we stayed at the gaia garden hotel with our young daughter and she had the time of her life. she didnt want to come back to the states and gave us such a hard time when we did. she loved the beaches which were extremely close to the hotel walking distance. shopping was close to also walking distance. fantastic restuarants everywhere you went and didnt have to worry where or what i should eat. the hotel also offered all inclusive which was fantastic cause it had meals 3 times a day and then at the bar there would be sandwhices for the people in the pool. fantastic.

if you want to get away and you have young children, gaia garden is the place to go. kid friendly pool with adult size too. Accomodating high chairs and room furniture. If you need something all you have to do is ask karina or litsa! they are the best. they take care of your needs ASAP!!!! They have a small childrens playground with sand box, swings, slides, and see saw. \my daughter loved it and she is only 8 months old. Very relaxing and the food was also excellent. Gaia garden is in the heart if KOS anywhere you go is only a few minutes away. Best hotel i could recommend!!!!

It was fantastic! We had a great time during these 7 days. We hired bicycles the entire week and we were able to cycle to the city or the beach within 5 minutes. The room was very clean and we even had two separate rooms for the four of us. Kos is very beautiful and definitely worth visiting again.
The pool, deck chairs and the garden are very well maintained. Very correct and friendly personnel. The snacks should have some more variation though, but the rest is perfect. Will definitely come back to Gaia Garden next time again.
