“Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

I booked this hotel as an all-inclusive deal and highly recommend it. It is situated in a quiet area of Lambi and approximately a twenty minute walk from the centre of Kos town.
Externally, the gardens are wonderful and a credit to the gardeners - beautiful plants, shrubs and trees and lots of interesting corners to relax in.
The food in the restaurant was plentiful and the staff were constantly topping up, ensuring that you had a good choice even if you decided to dine at the tail-end of the service.
I was travelling alone and was given a double bedded room so plenty of space for me to spread out in. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels were replenished daily. I'm used to Greek beds and most of them are so hard but this bed was brilliant and I slept well.
On my final day I was flying out of Kos airport in the late evening and the lady on reception was so kind in allowing me to keep my room until early evening at no extra cost to myself.
I recommend this hotel.

Returned from a one week holiday at the 'All Inclusive' 3 star Gaia Gardens Hotel in Kos on 28/4.

The same week last year we stayed at the 4 star Kipriotis Hippocratis Hotel simply because of it's 4 star rating. However, I much preferred the location of the 'Gaia Gardens' as it is situated far closer to the picturesque Kos town - just a 20/25 minute walk even at the pace of my 83 year old mother-in-law whilst the Hippocratis requires a brisk 40/45 minute walk to get to the centre of town with my Mother-in law having to take the bus!!

The rooms at the 'Gaia Gardens' are situated in bungalows/small blocks scattered throughout the gardens which makes them far less noisy than the more traditional bedroom 'wings' at the Hippocratis - admittedly, the rooms themselves are pretty basic with very small bathrooms but they were cleaned daily and you don't spend much time in your room anyway!

The best thing about the Gaia is the food and the great restaurant with spectacular views across the island - in my opinion, the quality and choice of the food on offer was FAR BETTER than the 4 star Hippocratis and I never got board with the food which I find is often the case with many other 'All Inclusives'.

All the staff were extremely friendly and spoke excellent English and the lady on reception was particularly helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble for her.

The holiday was made by the weather - 7 days of blue sky and sunshine which makes the Greek Islands a great destination at this time of year as you are far more likely to get decent weather than on the Spanish mainland or Majorca!

Overall, I would highly recommend the Gaia Gardens - great hotel which punches well above it's 3 star rating and it offers excellent value for money compared with the local competition - particularly the 'Hippocratis'!!

Room Tip: Don't bother asking for a room with a pool view as there are probably only 10 rooms with any sor...

We stayed at this hotel as a couple, in the end of April 2013 and stayed for 1 week. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to couples and family's, and 100% go back again.

The weather was HOT HOT HOT, never a shortage of sunbeds and the pool is right next to the bar. Which serves beers, wines, and soft drinks for all inclusive stayers, and for 5 euro each, a fantastic range of amazing cocktails.

The grounds of the hotel, are absolutely beautiful, lovely to just walk around and admire the effort and upkeep the staff put in. There are bird cages filled with parrots, hammocks to laze around on, a lovely play area for kids by the pool too. just generally a beautiful hotel. Brilliant value for money as we got this deal very cheap, around the £270 mark per person all inclusive, through Easyjet, including luggage and transfers, so there are some really good deals!

The rooms are basic and an okay size, didn't really matter to be honest as only sleeping in, they were daily cleaned. But... the rooms were actually very cold. Was quite strange having to sleep with all the blankets and socks on, but there was a heater and air-con in there.

The staff and reception staff are so helpful, and the most friendly and happy to help and give directions and advice.

The only down point on the lovely hotel personally is the food. Some people were piling there plates up, so it cant be that bad for some people, but personally I hated it. Chips and pasta every day for me, and the variety for lunch and dinner every day was not good at all.
Buttttt..... breakfast was lovely! a waffle maker, pancakes, fry ups, cheeses, fruits, lovely. couldn't get enough :)

The hotel is only down the road from the beaches, and beach bars and restaurants, but I personally wasn't a fan of the beach so stayed by the pool, weather its because it was April and out of season, why the beach was empty I don't know, still boiling anyway, just a little breezier then peak season.

The Kos town had plenty of restaurants and shops to go to including Mcds, and a lovely harbor full of boats and yachts. Its as a 15 min walk, very very straight forward, and you pass lots of shops on the way to stock up on snacks and water.

A rep came to our hotel with trips to offer and the one we were interested in was a boat trip to turkey (Bodrum) but we said we would book the next day,
That evening we walked along the harbor and standing outside one of the boats was someone who works for the Kos-Bodum boat trip, we spoke to her and turns out its cheaper to book with her then it is with the rep by a 20 euro difference! it was 30 euros each for the trip, and she recommended to go on a Tuesday where the big Turkish market is held, which the rep at hotel didn't even mention.

It was about a 40 minute crossing to turkey and had 6 hours there until we travel back, which was plenty of time. We found for fags and booze was the cheapest at the turkish border shop, then in Kos, so stocked up there.

We visited a cultural out door museum with ruins where you walk around with fantastic views, and a short walk up the town past all the shops was the big indoor market, we did get hassled quite a bit, but it was an experience, whereas you will not get hassled in kos at all. It was about 5 degrees hotter over there as well.

Back in Kos there are plenty of rental places for bikes, scooters, dune buggy's, quad bikes and cars. Everybody hires bicycles for very cheap which is actually a very good idea, to go to town and back, we hired a Vespa motor-scooter for only ten euro and drove that around for the day was quite fun, but also hired a two person dune buggy for 40 euro and drove across the whole island to the quiet, peaceful, lovely paradise beach, also known as bubble beach, the views on the way were amazing, and the whole day was so much fun! Personally didn't think we needed to hire a car at all, unless travelling far, but the dune buggy only took an hour to drive across the whole island and that was a top speed of about 45 mph.

As it was out of season, the restaurant staff tend to give out really good offers, one night we looked at the menu of this lovely Italian restaurant on the harbor and he sold us when he offered 20% off the whole meal, so for alcoholic drinks and big handmade pizza to share was only 20 euro altogether.
Opposite was another really nice looking Italian restaurant so we decided to go there the next day, again as we didn't walk in straight away, the waiter persuaded us a bit with 20% off and a free desert this time. So we were happy! unfortunately the chips were cold so sent them back, and they replaced straight away, along with 2 free cocktails :) again 20 euro altogether again.

On the last day we had to check out by 12, but kept our stuff by reception, and staff gave us a key to a shower room, to go to just before the coach picks you up. I was prob most amazed but how good the power shower was, I would love to have one like that in my house, come with built in radio the lot, the little things can make you happy!

Over all a lovely holiday, lovely weather, lovely Greek people and fantastic service, would 100% recommend, but also bring extra cash to eat out a few times, it would be a shame to not go to the lovely restaurants.

The property is beautiful because it consists of two-storey blocks located in a well kept garden. This is a hotel, but the prices are really affordable. The first day to welcome us also have free lunch and dinner buffet with a wide selection...you would not believe!!! The hotel is equipped with a swimming pool well maintained, the edge of which there are sun loungers and bar, also this very nice, where we pleasantly spent our "pre evening" drinking beer and ouzo in the company of a cute bartender named Rapo. The hotel is located in Lambi, a town that is about 15 minutes walk from kos town (the nightlife is there). but it's really nice to go to the center of kos on foot as the road is equipped with sidewalks and is full of shops and restaurants. The rooms are basic but fairly clean, with private bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony on the fantastic garden. Absolutely recommended!

We have stayed at Gaia Garden three times now as a family and as a couple and have all been delighted with the warm, friendly staff, peaceful accommodation and beautiful gardens. Our daughter and grandchildren remain in contact with staff and are delighted to hear the news from Kos. We can't wait to return to this beautiful island. It is worth hiring bicycles and experiencing the countryside.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of august for 11 nights and I can't say this is not a nice hotel..actually it is cool and all the stuff is quite nice as well, especially the reception! It really looks good from outside because the restaurant location and the swimming pool are stunning! Instead we got a little bit disappointed as soon as we got into the room..it was really small and I really hated the toilet! So small! We couldn't stay in 2 people inside! Anyway we had a good service for A/C which worked correctly and for internet because they provide a lap top inside the room..even if the wifi connection it is not the best! The towels are changed every day and the sheets every 2/3 day. Unfortunately we did not get a very nice room comparing with other people because we had a kind of big tree in front of the balcony and sunlight could not get in at any time during the day..so we could not dry beach towels and swimming costumes, or at least it took ages! And also all the room was really humid, especially the night!
If you want to travel and visit the whole island, do not take any meal included except the breakfast because even if lunch and dinner cost only € 8,00 ( drinks included) , the time is not very good for young people that surely do not have lunch at 12, either dinner at 7:00 and if you are on the opposite side of the island you want to enjoy the beach at least around 5ish or even later! We only had dinner twice and one was offered by the hotel :)
Beside there is not a very wide choice of food..pasta is not good at all, instead you can have amazing salads! Breakfast is alright, you can have typical english breakfast but also continental breakfast with cereals, bread, jam..etc.
Generally the service is good for a 3*** hotel, good for relaxing and I can advice it to anyone, counting that you only have to sleep here! I mean that when you stay out all day you only need to take a shower and sleep!
I advice to stay in Kos Town area, even if the best beaches are in the south of the island like Kardamena or Kamari Beach! The streets are not very well enlightened and if you rent a motorbike as we did it is not good to travel a lot in the night at all! That's why we chose something near the city centre!
