Alice Springs wins again - many thanks to George, Barbara, Elias and Maria and we must not forget little George and Barbara - a family who want to ensure you are welcome at their home. The service is excellent the hotel well maintained and very clean. This is the second time we have been there and it won't be the last. A great place to have as a base to visit Kos or just laze by the pool or in the garden. It is one of those places that everyone will talk to each other. Nothing is to much for the family to do if they can and if you visit dont forget to ask 'easy rider' Elias about his new Harley Davidson.
See you all again soon

Mum (50's) & I (30's) have just returned from a week at Alice Springs and I am full of praise for the place.

We always go for basic 2* accommodation in Greece and Alice Springs was everything we were looking for, along with the usual quirks of Greek hotels.

We had a self catering studio, the first room on the first floor overlooking the pool. The kitchen equipment was as basic as we'd normally expect but there was a microwave, toaster and kettle which we found to be luxuries for Greece! The bathroom was the usual nightmare of shower curtain being too short, shower tray too small so you couldn't get away from the shower curtain and the beds were far too hard for my liking. As for the towels, well, we didn't need to exfoliate for the week... But I'm not complaining. I'm used to this standard in Greece, just pointing out if this is your first time in a Greek self catering studio this is what you come to expect, it's the norm.

Where Alice Springs excels though is customer service. George and Barbara were the perfect hosts on our first evening but soon left for a holiday after our arrival. From then on we were looked after by the very friendly, happy to help Elias. Nothing was too much trouble. I've read other reviews that say that the staff are only happy if you are spending your money at the hotel but we didn't find that to be the case. We went along to the quiz night, but mum & I tend to keep ourselves to ourselves so going to the Lamb or BBQ night just isn't us, we always avoid them. Maria (Elias's wife) asked if we'd like to book for the BBQ night and I politely said no thankyou, which wasn't an issue.

We did eat at the pool bar on arrival and on a day when the supermarket had run out of baguettes we ordered takeaway sandwiches to take to the beach and the quality of both lots of food was excellent.

The location is spot on. Turn left out of the hotel and in 2 minutes you're in a large supermarket, turn left at the end of that road and you've 15 mins walk in to the town. Stamatis (I think that was the name) car hire is just on the left on that road, very reasonable price. Turn right out of the hotel and the beach is less than 5 minutes again. Plenty of sun beds but if like us you prefer just to put your towel on the sand, walk to the left of the beach just past the jet ski hire and there's a great patch.

We ate in Kos Town a couple of times but in the end opted to eat at Blue Parade on the beach in Lambi every night (fantastic restaurant, see my separate review).

All in all, a fantastic holiday and a big thank you to Elias for his hospitality. Highly recommend the Alice Springs!

I stayed at the Alice Springs Hotel with my husband and 2 year old boy from the 18th of September until the 25th. We loved every single thing about our holiday and we feel that this was mainly due to staying at Alice Springs. George, Barbara, and their son Elias who run the hotel are all great. They are very welcoming and will always go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The apartment 310 that we stayed in was great, it was so big, with 2 bedrooms, a livingroom/kitchen, and a big bathroom (with a bath), huge balcony, could not have asked for better. (Also your allowed to flush ur toilet paper instead of putting it in the bin!!) The apartment was very clean, and clean towels were replaced daily.
The pool area was also immaculate, and the kiddie pool was great for my little boy. I read that people previously had trouble getting sun beds, but we found like any place if you were out early enough this wasn't an issue. The pool bar and drink menu is good, however we didn't eat/drink there often as there is cheaper restaurants/supermarkets close by. The beach is literally a 1 minute walk from the hotel and then Kos town is about 15-20 minutes away. The hotel does different theme nights, and we particularly liked the steak and rib night, my husband even said it was one of the best steaks he'd ever had. There are lots of trips you can do (paradise beach, boat trip to bodrum in Turkey for their market Day), these can be booked by the rep or directly at the harbour in Kos town. Lots of lovely restaurants close by (I would highly recommended 'old river'). Overall our holiday was perfect and I cannot thank Alice Springs enough! We will definitely be booking up for next year!!!

Just returned from the Alice Springs Kos i have never felt so at home and enjoyed myself so much on a holiday. In the day time the pool area is lovely. At the night time doesn't matter what time you go to the bar every one who stays here talks to each other the atmosphere is great.
All this is because of how it is a family run hotel George, Barbara,Elias, Maria and all the staff make this place and it is perfect never met such genuine people. It doesn't matter if you are a young couple a family or and older couple every one is made to feel special. As i was leaving
Barbara said to me even if you come here once you will have the memories forever i think that says it all.(Booking for next year)

found the holiday through Thomson so then decided to look on Trip advisor to look at the reviews , looked at the good and the bad (which wasn,t many and were 5 to 6 years ago , ).so when I booked the holiday I decided to email George with some requirements as we were travelling with my teenage daughter who has autism . he replied the very next day even though he was in Australia and was very accommodating . I choose this hotel because it was small and friendly and it certainly didn't let us down , my daughter had a great time swimming every day and the one day she wasn't there some of the guests commented to her that they had missed her (that day we went to Tigaki ) The room was always cleaned everyday , the pool very clean ,and the food lovely . We ate out in the restaurants just outside the hotel every night which were fantastic as well . Kos town is a must and it took about 30 mins with a few pit stops for drinks and ice creams . overall a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday for all 3 of us , this is a hotel I would definitely recommend small clean and very very friendly ,

Just Returned From A Great Holiday At Alice Springs Hotel . George, Barbara And Family Were So Friendly And Nothing Was Too Much Trouble. The Hotel Is Spotless. We Had Clean Towels Everyday And Our Studio Room Was The Best We Have Ever Had On The Greek Islands. The Location Is Excellent Just A Free Hundred Metres From The Beach. It Is A Lovely 15 Stroll In To Koss Town But There Are Ample Tavernas And Shops Within 100 Meters Of The hotel. Hotel. You Must Not Miss The Kleftico And Bbq Nights Laid On By George. His Kleftico Meal Is Amazing. All In All A Fantastic Week And We Would Definitely Return.

We decided on this hotel on the merit of all the good reviews that this place had, and we weren't disappointed. This trip was a holiday and our 25th wedding anniversary all in one.
We arrived very early in the morning 04.00am and after booking in went straight to bed when we eventually went down to the welcome meeting we were welcomed by George who in his broad aussie accent knew our names which I thought was a nice touch. The meeting was very lowbrow and was over very quickly Hannah the rep was very nice but I think she lacked the killer instinct of more seasoned reps this being her first year at it.
On Monday the 9th the day of our anniversary it was the bbq night the steaks were brilliant and so was George except that he dragged the joke out a bit still thought it was funny though we were given a bottle of champagne to celebrate, thank you for making our day so good .
The rest of the holiday was just as good except that it was to hot on the Thur/Fri the temp reached 38 that's 100 in old money. All in all it was a lovely holiday made brilliant by George,Barbara and Elias and his wife Maria and the 2 kids and not forgetting Ellie who does some lovely meals.Thank you for a lovely holiday.
